Thread: Not getting any love on the Jedi boards...

So I posted our problem with the Mellichae mission and some players who are already jedi are trying to downplay the issue. Although it has been "reported" that this is being worked on I have NOT seen any post where SonG mentions this problem. I suggest you go over there and make a big stink on getting this issue raised to the Devs or it will end up on page 17 and take another month to fix.
Where I do agree that there is no point on completing the Mellichae mission if you can't gain xp I do think that the devs should fix this problem at the same time they fix the other jedi related problems.
Hey, I'm a Jedi and I'll give ya some love ![]()
I completely understand your frustrations with this, I'm really pissed off for another reason.
And I think, personally, those of you ready for Mellichae should probably be thankful you're having trouble getting to Jedi Initiate.
Here's the thing - I'm a low level Padawan, and I can't level at all right now. Xp is pretty rough to come by. The combat system with Jedi is totally screwed up right now.
Let's say you get Jedi Initiate, Mellichae done, okay? The moment you become Jedi Initiate, when you die and clone, you will lose xp. It's not a lot, but really it is, because xp gain is so slow if not impossible for a brand new Jedi. Why? Because you've got all your old combat skills, right? The ones you have outside of Jedi skills? Well, in the combat system, this screws you thoroughly.
Jedi xp is based on your use of a lightsaber (as an example, I think powers give you Jedi xp, too). Your moves with a lightsaber aren't great, so you won't do a lot of damage. But, you'll be taking on creatures that are a higher combat level than you can dish out damage to with Jedi. So, you take lower level missions that you CAN beat, though it takes awhile. A true "even fight." Well, you get no xp because the creature is so far below your "combat level."
The levelling system of Jedi is broken right now, seriously. It's beyond frustrating. If you get Initiate, all you'll get is the ability to end up with negative xp if you clone when you die or you end up with visibility and a freshly minted Bounty Hunter from the respec comes to kill you for fun.
The entire Force Sensitive/Jedi thing is totally messed up right now. Rest assured that this Mellichae thing will be pushedby me when I can. I know you folks are getting shafted just like us, and the Devs have a lot of explaining to do, and a LOT of work to do for all of us.

hello if you need help with mechillea here is the best way pre-CU don't know if thsi will work post-CU. first you range players to take out the crystals first. then have some of your melee profession ready to help with any mob problems. when mech and his other hench man attcks get your hits in but don't die a CM or Doctor will be needed to help keep you and others alive. if you die you will have to redo it again. this is my advice on mech. but like other jedi stated grinding jedi is a whole lot harder now and XP is rare to come by. hopes this helps

I ran across a group who was regrouping after a whipe at Mell's camp today. It was not a pretty sight. I feel for you. ![]()
However, after Mell you have the following to look forward to:
Buggy as all heck padawan missions (over 1/3 of mine were [this is made worse now with the waypoint system acting up. You will need a complete list a shirnes handy])
Inability to level without grouping (= instant visability)
XP loss on death
Influx of BHs form the respec just waiting to see your name on the terminals
And finally, your 2nd slot (which is actually a plus, as it is all I will play till they fix some stuff).
Hopefully they will get stuff fixed soon so we can get back to having fun.

It seems to me this would all be a quick fix. Simply institute a secondary Jedi Combat Level system, invisible to other players. While wielding a Lightsaber or using a force power, combat would be based off of that level (which would be significantly lower) thus allowing xp to flow in at a steadier rate.
Although the initial idea of a secondary Jedi CL would take some careful time and planning to get it running smoother as there is a lot more to pan out than a simple number. That number would also have to relate differently to players, creatures, and mobs thana normal CL.
Ah I just woke up from a nap.. I know this is a good idea and worth looking into. But a good explanation is something I can't seem to get out of myself right now. Too.. tired. Anyone else know where I'm going with this? help me out here ![]()
I'm goin out for the night
if I think of a way to explain in depth, I'll post later.
