Thread: If Mellichae poofs on you while fighting him...

Do NOT kite him. I tried his quest 12 times, only dying once (pre-CU), and he poofed on me every time until I went toe-to-toe with him. If you have solid defenses such as TK, he will not hurt you badly, and if you have an intelligent doctor with you as I did, expect to come out of it unscathed again as I did.

It may have been a problem with the camp spawning too close to server boundaries, but when I tried kiting him I would lose him. We just picked a spot where we said we would make our stand, fought him, and he died. He hit for about 400 health per hit, but his attack speed was maybe one attack every 6-10 seconds, more than enough time for Kristie to heal us both. Just an FYI!

the TK defends enough against his saber? Maybe with a PSG mark3, I could tank him when my time comes next month. Thanks for the info =)

I did his quest twice pre-CU, and 10 times post-CU, with success last night (5/1/05). I'm guessing now that the reason I could do the quest without getting slaughtered was because it had originally been spawned pre-CU. Are other Tks getting mopped up by Mellichae right now? I'd almost like to come on someone else's quest to see what it looks like, and what kind of damage gets done to me. I tried it with no armor, and also with full Ubese, same results. His AOE attack was 400 points each or so. Maybe it depends on the strategy used?

And Dano - the pre-CU you have highlighted there refers to the one time I was killed. I've tried the quest 12 times, failed 10 times because he poofed, once due to death, and succeeded once. First two times were pre-CU, first time he poofed, second time I died. Then they dropped Intrepid, and I started again post-CU. Took me 10 additional tries at that point.

He's much harder now than he was before.

He can be killed though, and I posted the tactics in this thread: (just scroll down until you see my post)
