Force Sensitive Archive

While I was fighting one ran away, so I killed off the one I was fighting. Then I ran around looking for the other and couldn't find him, fearing the body would disappear I ran back and looted the datapad. Then the other one comes running out of no where and I kill him. Now the datapad says that I must first loot the object before extracting any information out of it. Im screwed up huh? Got wait for them to come back again? Do I just destroy this one?

NM they came back like 5 minutes later and I got it

Went to the way point to investigate and it disappeared with no message. I'm so confused.
