Hey, sorry for being a complete newbie, I'm debating wether or not to go FS.
I love being Rifleman, but if eventually way down the road I get bored with the game and want to attempt Jedi for a little while, is there a way to as time goes on unlock the 6 branches w/o spending any skill points and ruining my Rifleman template?
When you unlock a force branch, does it require you to train in the first box? Or can you just "unlock" the branch?
Also to unlock new branches I believe you do not have to have your first branch full. Is this correct?
Last, I'm wondering what the cap on FS XP is, so as I earn XP, I can convert it to force XP, get all my XP w/o spending 1 skill point, and then way later when I get bored with my Rifleman spec for PvP I'd like to surrender the skill points and then cash in on my XP all at once.
Thanks for the help in advance.
And thanks for the flames in advance too I guess.

you can just bank up the xp and buy all 24 boxes at once when you're ready to go jedi.

You can unlock padwan and actually keep master rifles until sometime during your Jedi grind. No need to bank all you fs xp until done, its not neccessary. With 250-24=226 skillpoints you can actually keep 2 elite pros until you unlock padawan and then start lossing skill boxes from just one of your professions while keeping rifles as long as possible into the jedi grind. I know lots of padawans keep master rifles to give those BH's a suprise LOL.

Ok, I'm new at this too. I hope I understood incorrectly, but are the FS skill boxes considered skills that count against your point total? Meaning I will have to give up some of the skills i currently have. I hope not.

Yup 1 sp per box times 24 = you need to use 24 sp points to unlock your padawan.

I don't want to spend it though. I have MBH, MRM, Pistoleer 0404 using up all my skill points. I don't want to surrender one until I decide to fill all 6 branches at once, is this possible? Or will I need to spend at least 6 skill points in the initial unlocking?

All you have to do is unlock the branch by doing the quest, no xp investment is required.
If you are waiting till you have all the xp for 6 branches (7,350,000 force-sensitive xp) you can do that, and put it all in at once.
Again no investment is required, and you do not have to give up your skills untill you are ready to go jedi. To go jedi, you must clear up 24 sp and aquire 6 fx branches.
