I'm starting to get the idea that everyone on this board just has one goal in the game, getting jedi. And that there's nothing else to do or nothing worth doing if it doesn't get you closer to this goal.
There are literally thousands of things you can do while working through the village. You can work on space combat, participate in guild activites, go on quests, seek out POIs, pvp, build a house, etc...
Jedi is a LONG term goal, don't make it your only goal or the grind will just seem that much harder and longer.
That said, i think you have some good ideas SolidicPwnage. The whole village thing could really use a more interesting story and just more content in general.

OMG I can't believe it . . I'm actually in total agreement with jcecil 
There is sooooooo much to do while waiting for the phases to change. I prefer the cantina dancing but thats just me. Sometimes I'll even offer help to those having trouble with some of the quests.

100% and totally agree.
I have been decorating the house after filling that phases' tree and saving enough experience for the next phase. In addition, going into space in my Interceptor and blasting the crap out of someRebel scum has proven to be a VERY solid diversion while waiting for the phase change

i just came across a good idea that popped into my mind seemingly at random... ok so the phases are 3 weeks long...so you go out and do your quest to unlock a branch u go out and grind for awhile.. u master the branch and realize hey i got like a week or 2 weeks left before the next phase.. just what am i supposed to do till then?
well why not implement a system that corresponds with the villiage itself.. why not have someone around that can give you force missions... or force side quests.. that give you something to do at the villiage WHILE u wait..
sith destroy mission for example.. you talk to the NPC he says hey i need x base or y base or z base destroyed if you go out and do it ill pay u 7k credits... which is great but when you go out there you get FORCE exp for doing the mission instead of regular exp.. that way you get money AND force exp in one swift stroke.. it dosent have to be ALOT of force exp or nothing make it comparable to doing bols or something.. like u get 5-7k weps exp from a bol kill well make it so each sith you kill out there gives you about the amount of force exp you would get from killing a single bol... give people ALTERNATIVES THAT CORRESPOND WITH WHAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO DO!!!....
i feel jus tdoing something simple like that would really improve peoples feelings towards the whole force grinding thing.. it just seems more oriented to the story the devs have choosen... why kill bols when you can kill sith! well i would take the sith any day because of a couple of reasons.
1) i just like killing humanoid npcs more..
2) they are SITH not BOLS makes me feel as if i am actually DOING something that would make me become more jedi like in a sense.. instead of committing GENOCIDE on a species of animal i mean i dont want to offend anyone here by using this term but come on its like since this villiage thing started and the bol groups started its like a BOL HOLOCAUST or something... leave the poor beasts alone and let us kill siths for our exp =/
3) i wouldnt have to spend travel time and i wouldnt need to leave the villiage unless i wanted to.. if this really was an option i would STAY at the villiage nearly 100% of the time i was in game.. only would leave to get supplies and probably do a few things with my guild.. but other then that the villiage would be my galaxy ...
i dunno just seems to me that this is the logical thing to do.. if your going ot have someone try to do something for 18 weeks and try to make sure its challenging yet rewarding at the same time.. why make us go elsewhere to other UNRELATED AREAS OF THE GAME.. to kill ANIMALS... that havent done anything wrong other then spawn in mass amounts? it seems common sense to me to allow such choices and who knows maybe they will get put into the game but if they dont i know one thing.. after i get jedi on this character i am NEVER GOING TO DANTOONIE AGAIN .. never.. far as i am concerned the planet got blown up the second i got intiate.. bols dont exist... the mining outpost dosent exit...the dantari never existed...
does anyone else feel this way?

No need to be rude. My post was in no way pointed at you directly, i don't know why you took it so personally or got offended. In fact, it wasn't aimed at the original poster SolidicPwnage at all either, and i apologize for somewhat hijacking your thread which is about ideas, not attitudes.
My point simply is, that you have to admit that alot of the new players who come on here posting are asking only about the step1, step2, step3 of becoming a jedi, and don't seem to care about the rest of the game at all. To them i say it's a long lonely road they travel, and i don't think they'll enjoy the game like you and i have.

I agree there are alot of things to do in the game beside jedi grind.. But still point to be is that some people only want that so thus let it be so.. To to tell you how many people want to grind out jedi and nothing else in the game.. Look at the old school with holo's to hard to do so they changed it because people wanted jedi. But I did take it personal when you said in your first post before you changed it .. everyone!
oh no need to apologize.. cause you were making a point and I made one too.. So if anything I apologize if I offended you. cause it was your post not mine.

now hold on i never said there was nothing else to do in the game i agree there is a buttload to do.. i mastered pilot myself in the past week.. and i have redecorated my guildhall about 5 times... and helped my guildies redecorate there stuff to..
i am currently trying to do all the quests on kash and so on and so forward...
i have been playing this game since the early beta.. i think i have just about done and seen most everything there is to do.. but really i dont like the fact that all there is to do in the villiage isconvert exp then leave .... and go back to your bols... there has got to be a way to make it so the grind itself is just more JEDI oriented... thats all i really ask..
but if not i guess ill just wait for this next phase to roll around since i can master it soon as i finish the quest for it.... then probably grind for a day or 2 to get enough exp to mostly mastered the next one... then just spend 2 weeks redecorating my house.. hording even more cash... and dueling people and going around overt trying to find overt rebels o.O
i guess it really isnt THAT bad.. it is only 18 weeks which in the grand scheme isnt that long... i did alot of stuff before i got started to doing jedi related things i guess i can wait these next 3 months to unlock one... oh well lol just wish someone had been more creative when they thought it out

LOL at your lame post.. I'm gettin jedi cause I've played for 2 years and now I need force heal to help me kill of these jedi more.
lmao at "build a house" etc.. you my friend should learn to play the game and stop posting lame things. Oh and your thousands of things to do.. Seen all the POI's..
