i may be able to play 3 x 2.5 hour sessions and 1 6 hour session a week if im lucky.

since i may be mostly soloing i want to know if:

-its possible for a casual player like me to FS grind to jedi?

-how long would it take?

-species/prof will be moncal/zabrak with tkm/mrifle(??)

would i be better off on a light/medium/heavy population server?

thanks for your advice....

The trick is make sure you get your unlocks done. You have as long as you like to grind out the experience to fill the branch.

Yes....it should be quite feasable. If you are CL80, get glowie and goto the village. Try once quests and see how long it takes for you are your speed to fill a tree. There really isn't any reason, with your playing hours, that you can't fill a tree in 3 weeks (1 Phase)

ALSO: Keep in mind that profession choice can make the grind seem longer.

I am MBH and almost TKM. I can store 1.2M x 4 in weapons experience and at least 600k in combat experience (never capped it).

As THM, MRifle....you will only have unarmed, rifle and combat. If you are intent on making it quickly....BH is good...commando is also great for massive amounts of raw combat experience (because a commando 'nading in a group is quite often very powerful.)

- First and foremost, I support the S T F U and play theory. I also support the CU and the NGE. I am grateful that we have a game that continues to evolve rather than stagnate. Join the positive voices!

I agree with WidowMaker. Just do the unlocks and then enjoy the game, only going to the village to turn in capped XP. It'll take longer but probably won't be as frustrating as only grinding 8 hours a day.

solo is possible but very long. I would join a group if ur playing for more than an hour becuz u would be amazed at how fast it goes compared to soloing. But that is just my opinion. Yes it is very possible to solo grind post CU cuz i hav done it before. Basically i characterized it as (since i dont hav any healing abilities at that time) take 1 minute to kill it, stand around for another to regen health action and mind. But if you prefer solo play i know u can do it and it will just take a lil longer to grind it out.

Quick question: Is this your first time playing SWG or have you been playing a while and just want to start a new character on a new server or start a new account?

If you are just starting to play the game, then i would recommend that you not worry about jedi yet. Getting jedi is (as another poster mentioned) high-end content. It's the most difficult goal in the game and requires alot of knowledge and hard work. Not to discourage you because it can be done as others have said above.

If this is a new character and you're quite familiar with the game:

Yes, 14 hours a week would be enough to keep up with most grinders, but you wouldn't have time for anything else. Soloing is not recommended, but possible. The village itself takes a minimum of 12-15 weeks because of the phases. You can get glowy in a couple days, but i'd recommend you invest at least a couple in weeks in your character to get your cl up before getting glowy. Species/prof, all are good. Don't see too many Mon Cal jedi, so that might be cool. Light servers are boring, heavy servers are laggy, i'd go with a medium pop server like mine, Intrepid . Good luck.

thanks all

this isnt my first time playing but ive taken about a year off or more. since id probably be playing long term id like something a bit morerewarding to aim for.

i think i will find a group if i can soloing IS slow and boring.

one thing though. now after CU we only get damage taken off our health bar, would i be right to say there is hardly anynoticeable different the species now in combat?

what is a good resource link/site that has lots of general info on jedi such as how HAM and species bonusesaffects themetc etc.
