Ok 64 days ago to be exact I bought ROTW exp pack and got me an alt. I was not going to take him FS because he would never go past level 1. Pure crafter! The standard day grind for artisan

Using my combat alt I decided to run the Mos Eisley Newbie Quests. I really just wanted the badges. So in the process a non FS guildmate runs them with me and we finish kudos all around. In 3 days he gets a visit from the old man. He was shocked and was like woah did not expcet that.

I got to thinking, could the 4 newbie badges be classified as content?? Well I took my level 1 alt for an adventure today.

This morning at 10:15am est I logged in and started with

Master Artisan
Head of falls at deeaj peak
Abanonded Reb base

The only reason I had three was because I ran the clone armor quest. So I began getting my badges

Theed Waterfall
Lars Homested
Escape Pod (status changed you feel something slighty different)
Krayt skeleton (status changed to faint sense of the force)
Sarlacc pit on tat
Bens House
Jedi Temple
Exar Kuns Temple (status changed to surge of force within me)

Pretty standard FS stuff, I left out all content badges to make sure this would work

I then did the newb quests and got these 4 badges

Mos Eisley Mystery
Secrets of Mos Eisley badge
The Mos Eisley Engima
Key to the City Mos Eisley

Now on my alt from running the warren so many times with new guild members I had a set of disks on me which I gave to my alt and then he ran to naboo to turn then in. Guess what happend after I did /check status??

"You feel and inner glow, the force is with you"

Now I am waiting on the old man to come to my level 1 alt. Boy this is going to be fun when the sith come!!

So in the span of 4 hours I unlocked my FS skills tag on lets say 20 hours to master a novice combat prof and wham you are FS.

I am still giggling about this beause I am in utter shock! Why were the newb quest badges classifed as content? Now you can unlock FS without doing a single TP

The idea of having to unlock content before becoming glowie isnt to make it longer or harder to get there, its suppose to give the players a chance to experience the game before swinging into " the grind " . If people want to power game to jedi, nobody is going to stop them. Its the people who've played since the start and actually enjoy'd the different professions, theme parks, and list of POIs ( Yeah, even the ones that dont have a badge! *gasp* ) that soe seem'd to target for the get glowie system. As far as im concern'd the longer you wait to start your jedi grind, the better it will feel when you finish it. Of course I say this with 9 days until I unlock, but I did put off hologrinding to experience the game

Clearly the devs are retarded. Someone fire these morons please before they ruin this game more.

Considering how difficult the Corvette is and the lag issues the Warren has been having for the last few months, having the Mayor badges count as content is not a problem IMHO. I used them to go glowy instead of the Warren since I can't even get elevators to work there right now the lag is so bad. Getting LD every 5 minutes in the place is not good.

Let's be honest, if a raw noobie gets glowy real early long before he/she is close to CL80 the Sith will eat them for breakfast anyway.

Getting glowy is such an inconsequential thing anyway, it's the grind that's the brutal part and unless they're high level it'll take a lot longer than any of us CL80s...

I see no point in this threed as if someone were to make a new toon today it would not be possible to "unlock" until December at the earliest so are you saying 4 months to get Jedi, if they choose any old FS branch, and this would be grinding pretty hard so thisisn't long enough? I think it is just about right. The devs made getting Glowy easy was a great marketing tool, now they have set the hook and just taking 5-6 months of play time to real you in. HAHA gg

sweet man do it, it's the natural progression of the game. There will always be normal toons around as most will discover that playing a Normal toon is funner in many ways than beinga knight.... sad but true

hehe, I am 9 days off from unlocking too

I am just really surpised that we have went from hologrinding to handing it to newbs. Why classify those badges as content? You can now do FS unlock without doing a a single TP
