Thread: If your post starts with noob question or I searched but couldn't find answer...
Kthnxbye!!!!

Doesn't your post start with "noob question" or "I searched but couldn't find answer"?
Thispost may be even worse than one of those actually. In all reality, is it really that big of a deal if a new player wants to post a question? Often times, the information contained in the sticky threads may be more than they can understand at first...so they ask a question.
The common cancer among web forums is the need for people to post the infamous "READ THE STICKIES NOOB", or "TRY THE SEARCH NOOB".
Either answer the question, or don't post.
There...I just cured web forum cancer.

Oh boy, that's quite the logic you've got there.
If a person with Force Sensitive quesitons goes to the READ ME FIRST THREAD and reads "Non-FS to Jedi Padawan" alone...all their questions will be answered.
I had two reasons in mind when I started this thread. One was of course to cut down on the constant and unending annoying questions we see over and over...and over......and over again. Secondly, it was to help those with the quesitons PERMANANTLY.
Abe Lincoln had a saying:You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
I felt that I was trying to get them to help themselves, especially those that are so new here they don't know the stickies exist. By reading my original post, they now know.
And last but not least, I have never called anyone here a noob. Feel free to look through all 350 posts I've made on this forum. If you can find one instance of me calling someone a noob, I will paypal you $20.

I don't use PayPal, and I don't recall saying that YOU called anyone a noob.
No need to defend your opinions, and thank you for the compliment regarding my logic.
You will not prevent people from posting the "annoying" questions that annoy you by posting what you posted. In fact, had I not bumped with this post, this would sink to page 2 or 3 in short order, and no one would see it anyway.
This behavior is a fact of forum life, and every single forum on the Internet deals with the same issues, much to the disdain of "forum crusaders" everywhere. This will never end, but if we argue back in forthenough, this will become a perpetual sticky for all new players to read, and lose the entire point by page 20.

It's not people asking questions, it's when 5 people post the same question in the same 5 mins, when each of them could of either read the stickies, or scrolled down & looked at the frist guys post.
The only questions that really bother me are
"whats the easiest way to be jedi?"
"what phase are we in?"
"how do i become FS?"
it's questions like this that are just too annoying to ignore, I usually try my best to answer any question, any amount of times, But it would be much easier if people just read the damn stickes LOL, I did, & i am no different from anyone else, we all breathe the same air FFS LOL, so why can't others do it? why? because they can't be bothered, or didn't even bother looking, & that is what causes some of the foul replies.
/rant off LMAO

Try to change the world or change yourself. Up to you, by I got $20 on the forum noobs; they outnumber you by one HECK of a lot. If you let yourself get bothered by it, the only thing you will accomplish is to get angry. Work on accepting it and letting it go; after all, it's really not that important.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.
And don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Because then you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

LOL
This has got to be one of the funniest (and yes, most annoying) questions new ppl ask. Everytime I see a post that startes with that, I just roll my eyes and think, how could you miss the one of the first posts on this page that says "WE ARE CURRENTLY IN PHASE...". Just makes me giggle...
I swear almost everything that alot of 'veterans' on this and other forums knows is based on FAQ stickies...

You want to hear a true story?
I was standing in the Coronet SP about 2 months ago, and a new player was fresh off of the ship...well...four days ago, and asked me for some advice. I gave her some info about brandy and buffs, etc, and not 10 minutes into it, she asked me:
"Where can I buy C12's? I want to start getting combat XP for Jedi."
That right there was a question that would have taken a LONG time to answer...themeparks, POI badges, all of that. So I referred her to this site, to check the stickies on the Jedi stuff....and I 'm sure she saw the path was a little harder than first thought.
