i hold a laser rifle but no synthsteak and I still only get 3.6k per baz nitch as well.

what does that food do?

synthsteak increases your chance of dodging an attack. i dont think it will help gain more xp, its just to avoid getting nailed because you are holding a ranged weapon

bah dont need that, I only get about 200k fsxp per buff session cause i only get 3.6k but its enough for me right now, on the last tree and i still have to wait till phase 3

Synsteak is a Damage Reduction food not dodge

If you want to dodge take Air Cake or Pikkatte Pie

Try holding a weapon your not cert to use

I'm a master pistoleer and 3xxx commando. Using Imp. Det's, I only get about 3.5k combat xp per GBN. There has to be something to it besides just having an elite profession. Any idea what I need to do in order to increase my xp to the 5.5k max?

Yes, grouping adds xp. I'm Master Rifleman/commando4000 and I normally get 4500 combat xp per nitch. BUT if I group with a single pet (my pet razor cat, for example) I get 5500, plus all the cash instead of getting a portion like when u are in a solo group. (only benefit to the solo, is that u get more spawns per lair, i believe, which also ultimately increases total xp gathered per lair)
