I'll try to keep this as non-confusing as possible:

Try #1: Mellichae lvl 134..... Me & 1 rifleman friend grouped and went out, he took down all four crystals by himself, retreating to a nearby reb base when aggroed (though that's not neccessary, if you pull them far enough they will stop attacking). So, no crystal bug. Seven more friends came out & grouped up with our doc not in group in the interest of all the damage-dealers being grouped. Well, several deaths and rezzes later, the group lucked onto Mell's death with the help of the nearby turrets and npc's. However, since I happened to be DEAD at that moment (doc herself had died three times taking care of everyone & was waiting on Special Forces status to rez me). Ok, lvl 134 Mell was dead, no crystal bug, but I failed. This was the day before the lvl 85 Mell patch.

Try #2: the next day......Mellichae lvl 85..... My mission had respawned in a city, with water on three sides. Ah well, there were 2 groups full of friends, and we all went out to take him down, figuring it would be super easy now. Crystal bug!!! And beyond that, another crystal was in a building, but after several attempts (I would shuttle out & in to respawn the npcs, once that also moved the crystals slightly so the one was out of the building but the other was still bugged). All these times we had managed to kill the crystal that was being healed, through brute force, and Daktar as well, and FINALLY at the end of the night, two of my friends managed to pull Melli far enough from the crystal to stop the healing & killed him. Unfortunately, we didn't know about this & they killed him before we could get there, simple miscommunication....and I failed again.

Try #3: A little later....Respawn of the mission, close by, no crystals in buildings, same 2 groups of friends, no luck pulling Melli away & the crystal was bugged again. I had respeced to rifleman to help take down the crytals efficiently. A long night with no rewards, very frustrating.

Try #4: SUCCESS...... I thought over what had changed between the first night & the second and I came up with Group Members. So my original rifleman friend & I went back out to the same mission as the night before (very bugged crystal) and to test my theory he stood by in group while I shot all the crystals. And they ALL went down. After that, I called in 6 friends & 10 minutes later we were done.

DIAGNOSIS: Either you yourself or ONLY your group members must be the only ones who attack the crystals. I *think* anyone can help take down the npcs, but if anyone outside your group helps with the crystals, they won't die. If this theory is correct, you will be able to take the mission easily with a full group of elite profession friends.

BTW- I got a response on my CSR ticket submitted about the 2nd mission spawn in the city, with the crystal in the building, and they responded that the mission is currently bugged..... like I didn't know that.
