Thread: Where is a good place to not be eaten by Krayts?

I'm waiting for my first visit from the old man. Yesterday, I hung out around Obi-Wan's hut, and chatted with people passing by. Nothing was anywhere near me, and a good time was had by me. When I logged in after the patch today, there was a nest of Rontos on his front door, a nest of dragonets a little to the left, and three krayt dragons within eyesight. Naturally, I ran for it.
I have tried shuttlehopping a bit, but it seems that they krayts are after me today. Everywhere I stop, a krayt seems to spawn shortly after that. Is there a good place on Tatooine for me to wait that won't turn me into dragon bait?
Also, I have been practicing my dancing while I wait. I have been told that he won't come talk to me if I am fighting, but will the dancing effect it too?

I wish i were on your server - i can never find krayts that easily.
He will come when you are fighting, but of course you won't be able to talk to him until you lose aggro. So he may get bored and wander off by the time you've finished off those 3 krayts!
No idea about dancing but i see no reason why that should stop him.

Are you new to the game? Seriously, I am not meaning that as a put down. All Krayt dragons are found on Tatooine. There is a huge spawn going on or at least there was, which is absolutely insane how many are spawning but you best have a very good team to have any chance of surviving. Go to Krayt Graveyard. It is a POI in you datapad. If this spawn is still on then once you get near it you will have no trouble finding Krayt dragons to eat you.

No, I want the krayt dragons to NOT eat me. I want to stay the hell away from them. But they don't listen. Wherever I go, there they are. I've been eaten 3 times in the last two days already. I've had my fill of dragons. I want to know where on Tatooine to go to NOT find them.

Places in Tat with no dragons?
I'd say Dearic will be a good bet, as it's very far from Krayt land.

Does the area around Jabba's Palace count as a city for the purposes of making him not show up? Because I don't seem to recall seeing any around there, and it would be convinient to just be able to hang out outside the palace and wait.

Yes, best way to avoid Krayts is to avoid Tat altogether. Go to a nice planet, like Corellia or, as already mentioned, Talus. And while you're on Corellia, stop by my shop

Because I have only been here a month. Other than Tatooine, I don't think I could find my way around a shoebox. I could maybe hang out at the Emperor's Retreat, as I was able to find that easily enough, but other than that, I don't really know the worlds yet. So I don't really know where a good place to wait is anywhere else.

Sorry, i mean try Bestine. That's a major city on the opposite side of the planet from the Krayt graveyard.

a good place not to be eaten by kryats?
try naboo everythng there is a vegetarian and i dont think kryats can fly/fit on a space ship

any player city will be fine, and there is nothing you can do to speed up the old man visit process, he comes when he comes, it completely random, so anyone who tells you that shuttle hopping works, or waiting out in wilderness for an 2 hourscauses him to spawn, that was true their case only
...but this kinda off topic...
as for finding a good place to notget eaten by Krayts any of the other 8 planets would be ideal, but since you said you don't know the planets...you justhave to avoid static cities like Bestine, Mos Eisley, etc.

When it is time for hom to come shuttling (or login/logout) seems to help. On my other character I missed his visit (which come about 15 min after login), did jump shuttle ONCE and again after 15 min he visited again. I think when it is time for him to visit he will come ~ 15 min after login/shuttling. But I think you are right that nothing will help speeding up the time it takes before he starts showing up. Think it is on a one day timer (maybe with some random time added) or something.
