I just got to enter the village today. I had 3 free unlocks and took luck, melee defense and crafting experimentation. I did the Captain's quest for ranged accuracy (already master pistoleer, BH pistols 4 and 0020 in fencer). When I finished the quest the captain said I earned ranged accuracy but I couldn't get Paemos or Nolden to train me in it. Do you need to have Combat Prowess Novice for this to work? I understand it is supposed to open the branch and give you one skill box. I may be confused on this but since I don't have combat prowess novice should it give it to me? Thanks alot.

Now you need XP. Paemos will transfer all xp in to fp, and noldan will trian you. Hope that answers you question

Try it see if it works if not it may be because you have to wait for the next village cycle, but that deosnt sound like your problem..........
Give it a go tho

What i understand is you can do one quest per phase and each phase lasts 3 weeks...

say you want to "take your time doing the FS quest's. like getting the exp. and you don't grind. can you carry over to the next phase or do you have to start a new quest no matter what?

The quests change every three weeks or so....so if you start a quest and the phase changes, you will need to restart that quest next time it comes around.
If you dont finish a quest and the phase changes, when you get back to the quest that you didnt complete, you need to start from scratch again.
FS XP can be gained anytime, and you can train in any unlocked tree at any time. So there is no pressure to fill the FS tree with FS xp before the phase changes.
Hope this helps.

I'd recommend always doing a quest every phase. Apart from perhaps some of the ones in phase 3 and 4, all of them are easily completable within an hour or two.
When you do get round to filling the boxes you will have a good choice, and also you will have been awarded a few nice items.
The village quests make a nice change from normal activities.

Basically just finish the quests at the time and get your branch unlocked then grind the xp at your own pace. You don't have to fill the full branch during that phase you just need to complete the quest to unlock it.
