Thread: Improved second character slot idea: let's take care of 2 problems at once

Simple
So simple it's beautiful: Allow anyone who has met one of these twqo requirements have a second character slot.
Hasbeen in the game for one year...
OR when they achieve padawan. Whichever is first.
Problem solved -
Half the people bothering with the stupid grind...
Half the people moaning about the grind...
Half the people affected by stupid nerfs...
Half the time spent on Jedi and BH problems...
TWICE as much time to work on OTHER bugs.

Half the alt subscriptions... (I don't think this is entirely true - how many people already have more than one alt? a ton)
half the income... (No less than they have now, just more people will be more satisfied once they can do more than just grind. Not too many people are going to drop an alt just because they have another slot - they'll jump for joy cause now they can have a merchant for their crafter)

never happen...frankly Jedi are lucky to get them...they are a relic from the days of permadeath (I support bringing a new form of this back - that way the jedi will actually use em, such a shame how many alts go to waste as afk bots in a cantina earning tips,for when the playergets back fromwork)

oh, I entirely agree that Permadeath should come back..but then again..if it did BH would within a few months be hunting nothing but Padawans. and thats not good either.
what I mean to say is ALOT of people are going to drop their second account soon after if a second slot were added for anything other than a LOOOONG grind..I know I'd drop my second one very quickly. and that would cut SOE's profits..and thats just not how you run a business, for better or worse, SOE has an obligation to its stockholders to keep profits up. personally I think its silly that we cant have 3+ characters per server by default from the start... as in every other MMO i've ever played..hell back in my AC1 days we had 5... far as I know that never took away from the game. it was nice to leave my life mage alone for a few days and play with my axer..then play for a few days on my archer...fun fun.
