Thread: Combat XP change: Answer this question for me?

Since the CU, can someone honestly tell me that they have killed a lair or assisted in killing a lair with grenades?

Pre-CU, this was done, but Post-CU my experience in groups is the nader goes in first, throws a grenade, gets incapped, then the rest of us go on like normal because that one grenade didn't accomplish anything. If you ask me, this is an exploit because you're getting all of that combat XP for accomplishing nothing. Therefore, SOE did need to do something about this. Was this combat XP conversion change the way to do it?No way Jose. SOE should've done one of the two following things:

1) Create a separateXP gain called Grenade XP. This would have a conversion rate of 30:1, 50:1,or maybe even 100:1, and using grenades would not give combat XP at all just like Jedi XP.

2) Completely disallow grenade XP to be traded in for FS XP. Look at Pilots, they've never been able to trade in their Prestige points.

Problem solved. So if you start asking for this type of change rather than just say they nerfed us, maybe they'll listen. Good Luck!

I just realized something. This 30:1 combat XP change thathas been implementeddidn't fix the problem of the naders. The naders will still get more xp at a faster rate that a non-nader. Hence, my points are even MORE valid. ROFL!!!

I'm not sure how most people did it but the method I used for a week last week (up until the discovery that they were nerfing the conversion rate I hadn't used grenades in a almost 2 years since I mastered Rifleman). We would take the lair as usual. SOmeone would draw the creatures to the group 2-3 at a time and I would hit them with a grenade and then use my Combat Medic powers to help the group until the creatures were done then I would heal everyone. Then we would pull some more. I would hit the lair with a grenade at the end. These groups were made up of my guild mates who volunteered to help out.

OMG. Someone actually used nades as intended. That is a perfect example of how they should've been used. Ifonly these exploiters followed your example, this change possibly would've never happened.

So I say to you, I am really sorry this change took place. I'm sure it really hurt your grind...
