Thread: new? idea for keeping the fs grind the same length, while nerfing grenade users

In the old system, 1.2million weapon xp generated 120,000 combat xp. They converted into 40k FS a piece, for 80k total. Now, the same weapon and combat xp will generate 44k in fs xp.


I propose that IF they keep combat xp at a 30:1 ratio in order to stop the grenade grinding, they reduce the weapon xp to 16:1. At 16:1, 1.2mil weapon xp and 120k combat xp will convert into 75k + 4k = 79k FS xp. Almost exactly what it would have been before for anyone that didn't use grenades to inflate their combat xp.


With this ratio the FS grind will remain the same length for people who didn't grenade grind before, and it will cause the grenade grinders to spend as much time on the FS grind as those who don't use grenades.


If anyone else has already proposed this idea, I am sorry for the redundancy. I hope it is not the intention of the devs to keep the FS grind twice as long for those of us who are finishing up

that's a good solution although I believe 20:1 would be better because the grind does need a bit of a delay. Yes, I'm a Jedi, BUT yes, I would have no problem with 20:1 if I were still grinding to become a Jedi. We should start getting everyone used to the low xp gain because grinding Jedi is an absolute, total, and utter boring grind.

THE GRIND DOESNT NEED TO BE DELAYED. the simple solution is raising the time between phases! cmon SOE adding grinds isnt the solution for everything.

Actually neither is adding a mandatory time-sink. This is the only MMORPG in existence that throws out all pretense of trying to get it's players to stay with content and equal shares of grinding and just says "Screw it, if you want end-game content like Jedi you have to pay us a minimum of $45.00 and wait 18 or so weeks to get it."


Adding a longer time-sink, especially in light of the fact that Jedi really isn't any better than any other profession nowadays, but requires a minimum of 18 weeks just to get to, then another 32,000,000 experience points on top of that... Well, you quickly see that it's a recipe to lose subscribers.


Of course, so is the Group XP nerf, and the F.S. combat changes, but apparently the dev's have had the meetings and have decided that losing a few more casual gamers to the grind is worth it in the end. Who knows.

I'm open to that as well. The less grinding there is, the better. No need to shout...
