Thread: Yes the Combat XP conversion change is bad but the alternatives are worse...

Let's examine why this change was made:
1. In the postCU game XP is generated at a much accelerated rate vs. the preCU rate for finished template characters.
2. SOE never balanced any of the FS boxes or exchange rates during the CU.
3. The rate at which FSXP is being generated is higher than what the devs believe it should be.
From the above points it's easy to see that something was going to change.
The devs started to tinker with splitting group XP, IMHO splitting group XP is a step backwards. Grouping will be effected, as will the progression rate for unfinished template characters and new players just starting out.
If it is the devs intention to slow down the progress of getting Padawan, then it is better that they tinker with the FSXP conversion rates then messing with how XP is given out to in groups per mob. Let's hope they don't revisit that little experiment.
Dude, yer going to be SOOO pissed when they split the Group XP within the next 3 publishes. hehe. Your thinking is terribly wrong here, because they ARE going to make those group XP changes. THe combat conversion change was just to get you used to it.
And yeah, they know it's going to be an unpopular change, this is why they've done it this way. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in Pub 22 without being changed on T.C. until the last day and never making it into the patch notes because they've already done the testing on it haven't they?
I am just going to put in this in my sig... and I should... It's on the box, and thank you George Lucas if you let Jedi in! You are even more of my hero!

/bump because you know thats true, the more you whine the more they will wanna slap you with cut group xp AND 30:1 combat xp
history tells us our devs are vengeful (look at the jedi profession, SoE didnt want it in this game, period. George Lucas made them put it in because he wanted players to be able to experience jedi without a storyline to hold them down) and now its a mere shadow of its former self.
/agree
Why would I want to play a Star Wars game and not be able to play a famous character or Jedi? I bought SGW: TTE just so I could get a character to become a Jedi. All of the new ads and boxes are practically dangling Jedi in your face.
Group XP nerfs after spending countless man hours on the CU the main point of which was to encourage grouping? Dangle Jedi in front of people in marketing then nerf the hello out of the path to get there?
There are much more serious issues in the game than this, when every profession is working AND HAS A PURPOSE then start looking at stuff like this, to do otherwise is an insult to those that are playing the borked professions.
