Force Sensitive Archive

I am only a novice artisan. Is that the problem? What level artisan do I need to be able to use experimentation? I have already wasted 40 resources because I couldnt experiment? I have a 15 rating general crafting tool and have tried to craft in front of a 45 rated general crafting station. What am I doing wrong?

you need more than novice to complete the crafting quests. novice has very little if no ability to experiment. I would go up the Engineering and Domestic arts line, these will increase your experimentation ability tremendously.
