I've been helping friends out recently, preparing for my own...have a few questions that are probably FAQ'd but I've a story to tell too...
Last night me and a friend went out to do his quest...just the two of us. I'm a TKM, Master Fencer, 2/1/2/2 Rifleman, he's a TKM, Medic/CH. We got there, I used my Concealment I skills toshoot all of the Crystals. The NPC's aggroed us one by one as I was doing it, and we took them all out as I went. We got down to just us and Mellichae. We had the pets fight him first, we intimidated him, gave him all we had, then when we had his health halfway down, he slew us both. I rezzed and concealed him until an old bleed ticked, he slew me again. So we laid there a while, then got a Doc to come out to rez us...if we could get buffed again, he was still standing by half dead...we could have finished it. The rez timer had expired unfortunately...but what I wonder is this...if my friend had been rezzed, and we had finished off Mell, would that have worked? Or can the subject not die during the mission?
Also it was fun to get that far, there's a lot of buzz about how hard that mission is, and I've been in huge groups that took a while to do it, so I was proud of our progress.

Wow I cannot wait to try that. what is his HAM and resists, if you don't mind me asking?

Mell has 55K HAM and 80% resists, its the Ls you have to be aware of! lol

Better off getting a group. I actually did my Mell quest in the morning. I found 3 other guys that were looking for groups to do theirs. When we built up a pretty nice group, we had about 8 or 9, including 2 Jedi Knights, so it was pretty easy. We did each Mell camp in less then 2 minutes. A guy who didnt have a speeder had to run to each Mell camp, he would always get their after the fighting was over lol, it was pretty funny.

The subject pulling the mission can die but must be resurrected before Mellichae dies. I know because I died during my mission, but luckily had a doc with me.

I was able to solo the camp in about 20 minutes as a master Rifleman / master TK. Conceal shot the crystals, then tanked any of the sith that aggroed. After that, I just bike kited Mel with strafe3. It was actually much easier than I expected. I was lucky enough to have a camp right on the river bank, so I kept Mel swimming as much as possible.

any - ANYtime you fight someone with a lightsaber, take your armor OFF. I tanked mellichae couple of days ago, and im only tkm/fencer/2220 medic. I had no armor on and was standing toe to toe with him.

wow Starfall ... STRAFE3 attack! U mean the one above the master level strafe2 one ... ????????
I was master rifleman for just 6 months and never see it ... LOL!
For sure a master rifleman can have the whole camp but sometimes u need a bit of luck for this.

ok just went with a group to do this quest and we all died.. a rifleman was conceal shooting the crystals but they just kept healing themselves when they got about half way down... is there a trick to it? without the crystals down mell kept healing himself and we never got anywhere.......

yes the person who's mission it is allowed to be incap. this happened to me on sunday night when i did my mission with a few friends. i was actually bower boosting when mel started to whack me, some1 had lured him out b4 we started on the crystals lol.
so we were on to a loser from then on, but luckily we had a smuggler (thanks vince) who lured mel away & fained death, to keep him occupied while we rebuffed ect & took out the crystals

i just did this mision a few days ago. I did it solo as a master rifleman. Took me 2 tried (first time I died) So, I just concealed shoted the crystals to deaht, on the last crystal, all of them agroed me(when conceal shotting, be prone. But when u get aggroed, hurry and get up.)., I started running away from teh camp then eventually all of them came except for mel (was about 150m away) I just strafe2'ed those ppl till they died, then I went prone and concealed shoted mel.

u need a master brawler to warcry 2 him only, the others keep on killing!

It was my mission that Tulock was referring to. Learned a lot on that one. Actually went back with his information in hand and soloed the mission. I conceal shot the two green crystals, then one red one, then some of the thugs and mercs and then got to Daktar, same thing, conceal shot. Finally I got to within 63m of the last crystal layed under my speeder and conceal shot it. It died and I got the full aggro, but hopped up and sped away, then returned, circled around and found Mellichae standing all alone next to a building. So I got to within 63m, got off my speeder, /prone /cover /concealshot until he died. He never moved, took about 20 mins. for him alone, not as quick as previous poster, but I'm proof that, if you're careful, you can solo the mission.
BTW, I'm TKM/Rifleman 3304 with +6 speed tapes and a 520max T21
now on to the trials!!
