Thread: Another exit quest question. (Mission Accepting/Failing flexibility)

Hi,
I was wondering... if you got your second visit from the old man.. could you just log out and do the exit quest later... or do you "have" to do it when he comes around?
Also, what are the exact criteria for failing this mission, and how do you restart it?
I've been hearing allot of different stories (ie. You get a waypoint right after you get killed/You have to wait for the old man again)

Not entirely positive about all the criteria, but I think that if you (the soon-to-be Initiate) die and clone during the mission, it will fail. If you die and are rezzed, then it doesn't.
A friend of mine was doing his Mell mission when the server crashed. It respawned once the server came up, and he was able to do it successfully after(he died/was rezzed during it as well).
Thus, you don't have to do the quest right away. Or so I hear.

Other posts have stated the following:
a) you can go from planet to planet (leaving the planet where you get the waypoint doesn't abort/fail the mission) - thus to get people to join, or buffs.
b) if you die and clone, the mission fails - reportedly, it will re-spawn in the same location.
c) if you die, don't clone, get rez'd, mission does NOT fail, and you can continue fighting.
I haven't read anything about getting the waypoint then logging out, to see if you can do it later or not.

apparently you can cause I had to logout (even restart my computer, this was after I had already gone to the waypoint) and the waypoint was still there. the only criteria to fail the mission is if YOU die. if you do, then all you have to do is take a shuttle to anywhere, and the waypoint will respawn.
