I have finally finished the Force Sensitive grind just like many of the others here. I have now all the xp needed in order to train my last 4 boxes (1242000 xp) all banked up. Wait for phase 3, unlock ranged defense, then on to melichae. w00t w00t!

Ya dude, thanx for the positive feedback. One question, what is best to go up first in sabers? I see alot going up in the double bladed.. why not go up single or double hand first?

Yes, a lot of Jedi (myself included) go up the double bladed LS tree first. The reason, besides looking cool of course, is that you get a spin attack sooner in that tree: box 1 vs. box 3.

Hope this helps,

I also heard that that if you went up one handed, that one is the fastest one to go up. hmm

Not any cooler than the 50,000 other people that only use double bladed. By the way, the first spin attack doesn't really help alot, if any. I suggest taking up whichever lightsaber line you find the coolest/most fun.

I personally went up the polearm tree, mainly cause at 0030 the spin attack does 1500-2500 damage instead of the 500-900 damage the first one does at 0010. If i am correct, one handed AND two handed dont get an area attack till teir 4, which would mean it might take a little while longer. On that note, i got on the terms today from a stupid shuttle landing, and i killed the imps with spin attack2, had to pop a sythsteak though, since im on the terms ive been grinding on stormies HEHE 650 a pop.

it should be noted that the spin attack you get in box 1 stinks. At best you're hitting for 700-800 compared to your leg hit which hits for 1500-1700. So what the spin does (also keep in mind your speed is also low) is allow you to take on large groups, but those large groups must be fairly low or you will get wiped out. This is only due to the lack of speed and armor.

But I did the polearm saber line first myself and thoroughly enjoy it. The most important thing, to me, about grinding it was having a solid attack that targeted one ham bar. polearm saber targets action, so I stuck with that all the way until I got to saber 0040 (eventhe second spin attack wasn't great, hittingfor 1400 to random compared to 2200 to just action, it made little sense to use it except on lantern bird lairs or things that conned white, which also wasn't usually worth the xp per minute).

The main thing to consider is that the LS tree is like marksman, its 3 different weapons with a tech column. No matter which you choose, you will be happy. I was under the impression that the one handed column had attacks that only targeted the mind, but have heard recently that it is not the case. The 2 handed col targets the health bar with its body hits like fencer. So realistically its like polearm saber is like pikeman, one handed saber like 2hand sword and 2hand saber like fencer.

I will say that you must pick one col and stick with it. Don't do this, grab 0010 and then say, hmm i'm going to grab 1010 to compare and then 1110. I mean its ok to do that, but you could have been 0020 by then. Also, and I fought myself with this a lot, grind all the way to box 4, its long, it will be like grinding 2 village clumns, but SOOOOOOO worth it. The difference between 0020 and 0030 is HUGE, the difference between 0030 and 0040 is REALLY HUGE. Then after you get that, go for the tech col or its up to you to start branching off into the other trees like enhancer 0002 which is staple food for grinding (you need this to use anything other than 1'st gen sabers for grinding unless you get lucky tunes).

I made the mistake of grabbing a healer box and force speed1 in enhancer. I thought the 15% speed bonus would help but in all honesty, swinging a 4.5 polearm saber 15% faster for 3 mins isn't worth it until you are 0040 since that 15% puts you at speed cap. It honestly will not help you at 0010, 0020 and 0030. I know because I tried. I even had a -.37 speed crystal that brought the saber down to 4.1 speed but with 0 force cost on the crystal and 14 force cost on the saber meant that I had to rest too often for my force to regen.

The other benefit to the polearm saber is damage output, there's a reason you see so many knights using them, has nothing to do with looking cool at that point. I can't wait until I can use a one handed saber just to mix it up a bit. The one handed and 2 handed sabers are quicker, when you get novice LS you will probably spend some time crafting several of each until you get the look you want (little tip, when you craft the saber and you get to where you name it, name it with the max damage and force cost so my sabers are all like "225 max 23 force". You can't drop them in houses or decorate with them, so make it a functional name, it will help you).

I won't talk about avoiding the BH terminals, but remember that the social aspect of solo groups in the village don't fly so well anymore, head to swgcreatures.com and look at endor, yavin and other planets to figure out the best hunting for yourself. Learn what DB's, get the hero of tat ring (I've used it twice from creature clones, fierce borgles on endor give nice xp, but will DB you) and make sure you keep your bike out all the time. Not in case a BH comes at you, but in case you get in over your head.

Last word of advice, if you have TKM or Doctor, curing poison and disease are very worthwhile. 2 creatures, both with 6k of ham, if one is not aggressive and does not poison, grouped with a driod you'll get about 523 xp, if it poisons ordiseases, you'll get 700+. Example, on Endor prior to LS 0040 you can get 523 for bolle bolle stompers (non aggressive, easy kills, about 6300 HAM) but you'll get 704 for arachne drones (6300 HAM, just as easy as the stompers, actually easier). Fierce borgles and bloodseeker mite hunters will give you 790-810 per kill, also easy to kill but their poisons could be deadly if you can't cure it.

good luck on the grind, it really is a lot of fun and I have to say this, unlike grinding regular professions like rifle, fencer, etc. You will progress slowly but you will know everything about the moves you learn from using them so much. I think when I mastered rifle I flew through boxes so quickly that i had to come to these boards to read about the moves I got that I never even looked at. Lightsaber has no "strafe2" end all shot of shots that you will only use. So far the only useless moves I have found are the spin attacks in the polearm saber tree, at 0040 you get dervish which is AE and destroys spin3 which you get at the same time, I've yet to find a use for spin3...
