Thread: Entry Quest Waypoint Datapad doesn't work

So I killed the Sith Thugs and looted a Waypoint datapad from them. However, whenI try to use it I get a system message that says 'I must first loot this item'.

In the current issues I found the problem:

Entry Quest - Waypoint Datapad will not work sometimes after being looted (QJ not updating)

If the Waypoint Datapad is looted before the Quest Journal is updated the datapad will not work and the Quest Journal will not be updated.

This can happen at both points where a Waypoint Datapad needs to be looted during the Entry Quest. If you loot the (waypoint) datapad while protecting the Force Crystal before killing the second Sith Shadow (ie. looted from the first one) the disk will not work. It's the same thing at the Sith Shadow camp if you happen to loot the (mysterious) datapad before completing the task.

Is there a workaround to this bug? Should I delete the current bugged datapad? Will more Sith thugs come?

Double click on the corpse to loot the data instead of using the '/loot all' command or the redial.

Sorry to break to news to you, but that only works for items. A waypoint is stored in your Datapad and not in your inventory.

Yes, as long as the disk is not in your main inventory, they should come back. I put my broken disc in the safety deposit box and was attacked again the next time I logged in.
