Kill Sludge Panther Trial
Trial: A Jedi must do whatever is possible to protect the natural order of the universe.

Solution: Kill 20 Sludge Panthers (of any type) on Talus. Minor Sludge Panthers spawn around Dearic, not many spawn at once so you will have to circle around the whole city on the outskirts, but eventually you will find them. However, these are usually static spawn cycling points, where several waves of spawns will cycle. If you keep killing the waves eventually a Minor Sludge Panther wave will come. If you stick to one of these points you will complete the trial in no time.
Here are the waypoints for known ones around Dearic (re-spawn rate is usually less than a minute):
(158,-2511)
(72,-3298)

Solution: Kill 20 Falumpasets (of any type) on Naboo. The best place for this is southeast of the Gungan Scared Palace POI. Gungan falumpasets also count as ones you can kill for credit so kill them if you like (level 25 Gungan Mercenary missions from Moenia?).
Craft Lightsaber Trial
Trial: Thanks to your progress thus far, you have been granted the rank of Jedi Initiate.
Description 1: With this honor comes the ability to craft your first lightsaber.Such is your next task... to craft yourself a lightsaber.
Description 2: Well done. Your first lightsaber is now complete. Before you may use it, though, it requires a Force crystal. As your next task, obtain and tune a Force crystal for use with your lightsaber.
Solution: The time has come to craft your first Lightsaber! After successfully creating it tune a Color Force Crystal (non-white one) when told to (and only when told to). This is always the eighth trial and you will gain the Jedi Initiate status when given this trial.
Note that the 8th trial - craft a light saber is when you will be granted the rank of Jedi Initiate, the Mellichae quest is purely substance. After completion of the 16th trial, (there are 16 in all, crafta lightsaber is ALWAYS the 8th and is when you become initiate) you will gain the rank of Padawan! Congrats! At this point, you will unlock the ability to begin training in the jedi disciplines, receive your Padawan robes, and unlock your second character slot! Note while you can make this alt a jedi as well, you will not receive additonal characters for it.
2.0 - Templates (Jedi)
Ahh the jedi template. Quite possibly one of the most argued over subjects in SWG. As a forewarning, there is no god-mode template where you ill be able to kill everyone and everything. Each template has it's advantages and disadvantages. You can seek to strike a balance in yours, or specialize in a perticular area. Examples of this include building pvp or pve templates. If you decide to go hardcore pvp or pve, not that you will not be very good at all in the contrast. (If you build a pve template you will get pwned in pvp - duh)I suggest gettin novice lightsaber while still in your paddy trials. You will be immune to BH and not show up on the terms until paddy, even if you gain VIS as an initiate. This way, you are safe from BH while grinding your first, most important box, and, when you do get there, you will have some defence. The only way to gain jedi xp (which is the type of xp required for all jedi disciplines) is by lightsbaer combat. It is recommended you go up one full branch of the lightsaber discipline before branching out and collecting other skills. (besides getting 1 or 2 more novice boxes for extra force power) As this is a guide ofr new padawans and initiates, I will not go into full out pvp/pve templates - there are specialized posts for that.
2.1 - Templates (Complimentary)
By complimentary, I refer to skills other than the jedi disciplines. Of course, at some point, you will be forced to give up all non-jedi skills in order to become full jedi, but until then, while you are a padawan you can keep some of your old skills - so don't go and surrender them all. I recommend getting tk 4000 (for meditate) and at least 4000 or preferably 4440 fencer. You could go all the way and get master fencer as well. This is because fencer is a great defenisve temp and also shines in pvp. This means it will offset the defensive capabilites you lose not being able to wear your armour while grinding with your lightsaber. It also means if a BH is on your tail, it's great to turn around a pull out a nice stun baton and show 'em who's boss. Other skills you might consider are smuggler 0010 for feign death (no longer works in pvp but is stil handy for pve encoutners), medic 2040 (first aid and stim d's!) and master brawler - the big one. (intimidate 2 helps keep those lil critters at ba and not tear throught you while your wearing nothing but robes or clothing. Get creative and add your own complimentary skills to your padawan temp!
3.0 - Grinding
The subject of what to grind at Padawan is very controversial. There are the people who always grind quenkers no matter what skill level or profession, some who recommend hunting on Endor, or Corellia, or Tatooine, etc... I suggest trying it different creatures for yourself and seeing what goes fastest for you, I say this because I believe alot of the discrepancies occur where people choose different lightsaber styles. Double bladed are slower, but the strongest, 2h are in between, and 1h are the weakest, but also the fastest. Ultimately, it balances out to what you want, and what you grind while depend on this. I suggest as a basic all purpose grind for NEW padawans, that they grind Correlian Dire Cats or Feral Banthas around Mos Espa. Quenkers simply take to long to kill -- upwards of 5 minutes. Please note that the training saber is a 2h.
3.1 - Where and what to grind
Endor - Crazed Gurrecks
Corellia - Dire Cats
Tatooine - Feral Bantha
Dantooine - Quenkers
Dathomir - I thought you were sick of the village!
3.2 - How to stay alive while grinding
Some basics apply here. We all have those time when things get out of hand, and with no armour on - it just gets worse faster. Remember these important things while grinding:
- Keep your foes intimidated
-Use a center of being macro
-Use a Berserk macro (until you get saberhit1)
-Keep a set of armour on you
-Keep the weapon of your complimentary proff on you
-Use defensive food and drinks like thakatillo, ith mist, synthsteak, etc...
-Always keep some spice on you for emergency situations
-Don't be afraid to bust run outta there, the xp loss isn't worth staying and dieing
-I found this macro to be helpful:
/attack
/centerofbeing
/intimidate1
/berserk1
/macro
This macro has all the necessities in it. Note that you can change it into a collection of smaller macros, lieka berserk macro, a CoB macro, and an intimidate macro in one big macro.
4.0 - Supplies
While out in the field as a new padawan, bring some of these basics with you...
4.1 - Food, Drink, and Spice
Citros Snow Cake
Thakatillo
Synthsteak
Ithorian Mist
Vagerian Canape
Vasarian Brandy
Neutron Pixie
Muon Gold
4.2 - Weapons
This section is pretty straightforward in that fact that you should bring the main weapon of your complimentary proff and your LS! Note that it is important to bring a good quality weapon, this is because you won't need it much (so don't worry it won't decay too much) and when you do need it, a powerful weapon is going to get you outta harm's way faster. Also, it is useful for those BH encounters to have a good pvp weapon.
5.0 - Bounty Hunters
Ah the term, "BH" strikes fear into most padawan's hearts. With the huge influx of new jedi, BH are having the time of their life hunting padawans. Watch out! Bring the defensive food and drink, as well as some armour and your complimentary proff's main weapon. When faced with a BH, don't use yor lightsaber, at paddy, you just aren't strong enough (unless you have a completed temp and are still padawan, in which case you probably shouldn't bother with this guide) Basically you are faced with two choices at Padawan.
1) Run. Fast.
2) Stand and fight with your alternative non-jedi proff.
If you don't have much of a background in pvp, the threat of BH is as good a reason as any to pick up some general pvp knowledge. Ask around the pvp scene on your server -the tips you learn could keep you alive to grind another day....
In conclusion, your best defence against bounty hunters is stay off the terms! But if you find yourself in atight spot, run or fight with something other than you 5.1 spd 115 dmg saber.
The best advice I can give and have ever been giving regarding Bounty Hunters is this. If a bounty hunter kills you, congratulate him. Don't ever send hate tells. It is just their job. If you are kind and honourable in death, they may think twice about hunting you next time. Many jedi avoid being hunted simply by making friend's of the Bh on their server - because remember BH, and anyone else for that matter are reluctant to kill their friends.
6.0 - Jedi Gear
Jedi Gear would include the things you are identified as a jedi by. This includes your saber, and your robes. The saber is a jedi tool and a sith weapon. Use it wisely, and take good care of it. It *will* save your life at some point. When crafting your saber, you want to be sure to use the optimum quality resources, crystals, and pearls. Of course, don't go and stick a 50/50 -9 pearl into your training saber. Also try n keep your ADK out of anything but a fourth gen as well. When constructinga training saber, use good qualiity materials, and focus mainly on high attack spd with moderate to high dmg, with little care of wound chance. This is because you will only be using it for 20k jedi xp and after 2 buffs, you won't need it anymore. The 1st gen saber (which you construct at novice ligth saber) should be a good one. Stick a qualityor good pearl/crystal in it. A prem if you can afford it. Of course premium are always top choice, seeing as how flawless can't tune worth $hit right now..... This 1st gen will hold you for now.
6.1 - Lightsabers and crystals/pearls
Crystals are important. This is usually where you guildies, friends, or alts come in. Hunting the following can yield some easy crystals
Tusken Raiders (Tatooine)
Jedi npc's (Various)
Hutt Expiditionary Force (Yavin IV)
NS (Dathomir)
Mobs around the force hunters crystal cave (Northern Dantooine)
These are the easiest mobs to get crystals from in my experiences, However, where the real high quality stuff is are pearls. These drop off krayt dragons. The giant canyon krayts will drop mostly premiums and the ancient krayt will drop drop flawless if anything at all. It is both fun and rewarding to hunt krayts with friends and guildies. Often you can simply go with other jedi and take turns on who keeps the pearls from each krayt you kill.
6.2 - Robes and BE'd clothing
The subject of robes is delicate. Many people say they hate the robes. They make all the jedi look the same - like clones. Some say the +10 regen isn't worth it when you can wear BE'd clothes that provide fair defences. Some people say it has secret resits (rumour) and others just don't care. My advice to you: don't your robes. At least not yet. When you get better defences, then it is smart, but 1st gen and training saber take so little force, the +10 force regen given by robes simply isn't worth it. Wear clothes that give you melee/stun def and maybe bleeding def. Aakuan rings (ranged def) and belts (disease resist) are also good. You can also wear tantel armour that has CA in it, it doesn't null force power or LS.
7.0 - General Tips and Advice
This section is going to be made of suggestions by you, the reader. Please post below anything that you think will be helpful to new jedi. I wil edit it in as soon as possible.
-Keep foes intimidated
-Stay off the terms!
-Hunt for pearls and crystals with friends, guildies, or your alt
-Make good use of your alt, usually chefs, doctors, dancer/musician are popular, as you can buff yourself and make yourelf the essential foods. Also many people mae their alts loot whores for pearls and money. Some alts can even solo krayts.
-Make sure to keep a set of 90% comp and a good weapon on hand for when things get out of control or a BH comes by
-If you suspect you are on the terms, avoid going anywhere unbuffed and stick around places liek safeshouses and cantinas. On worlds like dantooine and tatooine, you can carry a small generic house with you everywhere you go and drop it and get inside it whenever you suspect a BH attack. (Bring a droid detection device and place it near the door as well so bomb droids cant get in)
-Get a BE to make you melee/stun def tissues then get a tailor to put them in clothes of your choice!
-Just because everyone says you have to take x template or use x style of lightsaber, doesn't make it so. Use what style of LS you want and choose a temp that suits your tastes, you will be happier for it.
To be continued....
