Why can't we do this ?

It's not illogical, it's not a game-breaking change, and it's somewhat counter-productive.

Do you mean the glowy status or boxes. Glowy status to enable you to move your char across servers? Glowy is tied to your badges and those cannot be removed. Boxes I do believe you can drop though the exp will be lost. Havent looked at the FS tree since Pre Cu but pretty sure on that. If not someone please correct me.

I can't surrender Force Progression, unfortunately. Wish I hadn't trained in it to be honest

you could always go to the planet record keeper and wipe out yout badges and stuff bet that would take away your glowy status
