the old man finally visited me for the first time, and according to the guide, the sith will attack me within 72 hours. Do i need to keep the force crystal with me all the time? It look rather nice in my house as decoration, and I probably dont need them until I finished one quest.

It's not just a force crystal. it also keeps track of your missions and what you have done with FS. So you should probably keep it on you.

I dont think you can drop it out of your first level inventory.

as for other crystals, my 2 fav. spots that seem to be dropping most right now are Fort Tusken (POI on tat) and Corsair Canyon (POI on Lok) I had better luck at corsair, both places the mobs are lvl 30-34ish, very easily soloed. hang on to all teh crystals you get unless you dont plan on becoming jedi, especially clear crystals

You can put it in your house for decoration. It doesn nothing but duplicate what your quest journal does so you dont need to keep it on you!
