does condition of the crystal matter? or does it just affect the color of the blade?

the color is all ready determined.
I have noticed - I've killed maybe 5 things and my crystal went from 750 to 704.
seems to be degrading fast...

The LS u construct during the padawan trials is a training LS and does not hold anydmg (clear)crystals, only a color one. Condition of your color crystals really doesnt matter as they decay rather slowly and are pretty readily availible.

I assume you use the LS crafting tool for your Padawan blade...what is a good effectiveness rating for this tool?

I have a couple 14.44 rating ones, its possible to get them up as high as 15 i think.
