Can someone explain this to me?
I've done one quest, the patrol under whats his face. I think it gave me alot of fp, i dunno I was able to go up to ranged def 4 and this was my first time at the village. I also know u can sacrific other experience into force points. Do quests reward you with larger amounts?
And I'm also completely ignorant to whatever phases are. Does it run like clockwork? how do I know when it starts or expires?

The quests only unlock a branch of the FS skill tree. They do nothing else.
You must convert regular XP into Force Sensitive XP by talking to Paemos in the village. You probably had a lot of excess xp stored up from combat, weapon skills, etc. That is why you got a lot of FS XP your first time there. Now you need to grind more regular XP to convert it to more FS xp.
The phases last 3 weeks are are tied to each server's (galaxy's) tick count. Since down time is not counted in the tick countand it is different for each server, the servers are slowley drifting apart. That is why the phase shiftdates are approximate.

quests give NO FS exp what so ever, they just unlock a particular skill branch, which you then have to fill with FS exp, by capping out regular exp & having it converted to FS exp, each phase is 3 weeks long, there are 4 phases in total, & you can do 1 quest per phase to unlock a single skill branch

each quest is a new branch?
Can you only do a certain number of quests in a phase?

YOu can only do 1 quest Per Phase.

You got the free unlocks.. Those who had done atleast some of there holos before the village pub, gets free unlocks..
I did first phase, and unlocked 2 whole branches (by that I mean I got the xp to fill them up enitrely) .
According to others, if you were on your silent holo, youll get a total of 4 free unlocks.
In other words, you just need to grind the two last..
And if not, you still only need to grind four branches..
The bonus to us holo grinders, so not our entire grind was wasted..
All in all, Ive just done phase 1, and almost done with three whole branches!
Come to think of it, I think you get 1 free branch for every completed holo. (logically, not counting the silent)

Actually as a correction, the holo grinding system to FS Village system was interrupted by a secret Dev meeting where the holo system needed 8 holos instead of 5....I know it's crap, but here's how the free branches work now:
8 holos were needed(4 silent, 4 told)
8 completed: 6 free branches(4 silent, 4 regular.....gets you to jedi)
7 completed: 5 free branches(3 silent, 4 regular)
6 completed: 4 free branches(2 silent, 4 regular)
5 completed: 3 free branches(1 silent, 4 regular)
4 completed: 2 free branches(no silent, 4 regular)
3 completed: 1 free branch(no silent, 3 regular)
2 completed: nothing free
1 completed: nothing free
I found this out after I had started Aurillia(going in thinking, "SWEET!! I get an a$$load of free branches).
NOPE, under my nose and many others, was a master scheme to destroy free branches for a lot of players.
