can someone explain how i get them? i cant just go to any random base can i?

Go to any of the Sith Bases & just start killing Sith.
You'll get waypoint Datapads and Remote Frequency Codes. Take them back to the Captain, and he'll turn them:
a) Waypoint Datapads will be returned as waypoints to other Bases
b) Remote Frequency Codes will be returned as Shield Remotes.

Yes you can loot them from Sith's that are found around any base. You need to loot "a frequency code" disk. You may also loot "a waypoint" disk but you dont need that so just dont loot it or destroy it after you do.
After you loot the frequency code then you will nee to take them to the Captain in the village who will convert them to Shield Take Down Remotes. Once he does that you can tell wich base the remote is going to work for.
Its best to go farm about 10 or 15 frequency codes before you go back to the village. That usually enough to get a remote for a base that is close to the village.

The "survailenc droids found around the bases have the name of that base in their nametag. So find the wp's for the closest bases to the village on your server and go there to find out there names. Check the other post that is sitkied here with the list of bases closest on you server.
