Thread: Katrina haults my path to jedi
/sigh
This is a game... ![]()
Should never rival RL in importance in my opinion. Especially in such troubled times...

Uhm, my point was that the importance of some lost xp on this game as compared to the real life effects of the storm is so insignificant that why would you even want to bring it up? " I lost my house." " Oh yeah? Well it set ME back by six weeks on my quest for Jedi!!"
As for the " While I sit in my nice warm home" comment, dude, you have no idea who I am, where I am, or what I do. That is one of those belittling little comments that make you feel better for cutting me down, but don't actually mean jack. As someone else said later down the thread, this game should NEVER rival real life.
Sheesh.
Now I'm gonna take my own advice and not let this argument here rival something in real life, and go on to something more interesting.
Oh and Johnny_goodguy2000, it WAS callous of me not to tell you that I hope you and your family are okay. I think the game is trivial, but what happenned to you the rest of the Gulf Coast is MOST definately not trivial. Best of luck and all our prayers.

A lesson can be learned from this bro. No matter what disaster strikes, life still goes on, but it's up to you to decide when you are ready to join it again. And yes, enjoying some entertainment for an evening is also a part of life.

I hope you evacuated when told. I feel bad for the children that could not because they had smart butt parents that thought they knew everything and did not need to get out! I am glad to see you are doing well. I am guessing one is to assume you were in the area living or now there helping out?
I wonder where we are getting the 100 billion dollars for rebuilding and I hope it is spend to help the people that need it and not into the pockets of people ripping the tax payers off.
and do not use the atm cards to by fancy lugage!
You do realize that for the most part, those who didn't evacuate, could not evacuate. Approximately 30-40% of the people living in New Orleans are living well below the poverty line. That means something as simple as paying for gas can be a monumental thing. That's (IF) they have a running car to begin with.
I lived there for 10 years, the people who left were the ones that could. Besides a very few holdouts who are crazy, the majority of the people that didn't leave, simply couldn't leave.
New Orleans has always been a magnet for the poor and homeless.

What do you expect him to talk about on the SWG forums? Losing his home? Losing personal items with sentimental value? (God forbid
) Lost loved ones? That is probably the last thing he wants to think about. Instead he chose a topic relative to the forums. Climb off the soapbox, you're in no place to lecture him about the disaster - he is obviously affected by it, and if you were also affected, you're still in no place to lecture.
