Thread: Signal Amplifier mini-puzzle bugged
I did report this using /bug.
I successfully crafted all 4 components.
I successfully "adjusted" 3 of the components.
It's not "adjusted" but I can't remember the word (configured / tweaked / something like that).
Anyway, the only remaining task is to "adjust" the Signal Amplifier.
Each of these items has a mini-puzzle dialog that you use to make the adjustments.
I believe the mini-puzzle for the signal amplifier is broken.
The top half of the screen shows the signal that I can adjust in green bars.
I can change some of these bars using the sliders. (shade and height of the bars)
The bottom half of the screen is the "target" signal that I am trying to match.
But, the bottom half always shows all bars all the way to the top and in orange.
I made several attempts, and was never able to solve this puzzle.
I searched these forums for "signal amplifier", and found an old link to a screen shot that showed the mini-puzzle with bars of varying lengths in the "target" signal.

Yes, the top bar (actual output) does not properly update to show its new color after an adjustment, this makes it a lot harder than it ought to be - in fact this was the only component I had to make more than one of.
However, it is my belief that the three bars to the left are sliders for Red, Green and Blue. So you have to move the sliders in such a way as to add or subtract a given amount of each tint to arrive at the desired color.
I made and ruined 5 signal amplifiers before realizing this - and when I made my 6th and tested this theory, I configured it properly at 100% condition. So give it a try and see if that helps you get past it.
I had the same problem, the top bars are a yellowy green where the bottem are green, but no matter what you do, they dont changed colour
Also, if you put them back into the array without calibrating them, they destroy themself wasting everything
I had a very similar problem. My bars were all yellow (top and bottom) and the only changes I could make were at the extreme end ( I could make some of the bars disappear.) I tried this for approximately 3 hours and eventually got it.
I would like to tell you how but... after a while I just got bored and started randomly moving sliders. And all of a sudden I got a message saying it was complete. I think all sliders were approximately 1/4 of the way from the left side, but I would be guessing.
I 'wasted' quite a bit of resouces on this one component, as I was basically doing it as fast as I could, but I finally got it. Good luck to you, krtz
Thanks to everyone for the advice.
I was able to complete this tonight by guessing.
Took about 10 amplifiers until i guessed right.
yeah...all i have is solid yellow bars on the bottom.
I start with solid yellow bars on the top
which exactly match the bottom
but no dice.
so its bugged.
but randomly people can get it to work. I brough enough resources for about 5 tries. Looks like I need about enough for 30-40, lol.
