well as i was out taking advantage of the dbl exp i was thinking alot about how this whole villiage thing has nothing to do with how people became jedi according to the story of starwars..
i mean since when did acts of genocide make you a jedi? (i have killed more bols in the last 3 days then i thought physically possible)
so as i was thinking about this i thought of what might be considered a better solution to all of this.. it keeps the grinding part of it that makes it so its hard to be jedi but makes it well.. more JEDI-ISH
make the villiage stay the way it is with the NPCs and such even tho i still think the NPCs they have here are way to random to make sense but make it instead of quests make it so that to unlock a certain branch instead of doing X amount of patrols make it so it takes you into an instance with a diffrent NPC someone sorta like the old man.. a force trainer of some type.. and well he tries to help you HONE your force powers .. kinda like what yoda did for luke..
he has you do diffrent things over and over and over again like moving rocks around with the force or making you run obstacle courses giving you temporary force powers while you are in the instance.. say they make one of the branches.. "force movement" and its basically just a big maze you need to go through several times and each time you do it.. it gets harder and harder and longer but you have to beat it in under a certain amount of time to move on... and it lets u use force speed during the course in brief intervals..
or say make ranged defense and melee accuracy part of the same quest.. the old man or trainer or whatever is in the instance gives you a training saber that you can only use inside the instance.. and he makes sith spawn and you must use the saber to defeat them and so on and so forward..
and after weeks of training of this type the force trainer finally decides he is ready to put you to a test and thats when you would do the exit quest... (which is fine the way it is i think)
but really i mean i just find it odd that they would make the path to jedi so un jedi like.. who are these random ppl in the viliage that can convert my regular exp to force exp... why does that trandosian have the ability to teach me force skills?
its just a thought really but i personally would get much more enjoyment out of it .. if i felt as if i was doing things that made me steps closer to jedi... and not just steps closer to being a part of a bol/picket/mauler professional extermination team..
but its not that way so ill shut up and go take advantage of this 2x exp and conversion rates and just get all my grinding out of the way so i just gotta wait for phases... =(

im with you on this, its very good.
however, the entire game is just "do this 8000 million times, even though this would teach you almost nothing in reality, we'll just say it lets you learn how to [insert whatever here]"
think about it, crafting: craft 8000million whatever professionspecific object
scouting: harvest 8000million pieces of bone, hide and meat
combat: kill 8000million of whatever the hardest thing you can kill is (pardons, not hardest, most xp effeceint)

Just because the game is grind based now doesn't mean you have to change the engine to add content.
I think the idea is terrific (but will be tough -- but not impossible -- to implement). Even just having the ability to hold a "temp" saber would go a long way towards making people feel like they are getting there. Good idea!

Yeah I approve of story based content, but in that doesn't sound like a grind. And the devs haven't mastered instanced stuff quite yet. They are working on it though, I heard it from a report from fan fest. They are working on truely instanced missions inside the Dev Cities and stuff, but they're trying to iron out all the bugs. They haven't quite mastered it. So whenever this goes live, if player whine enough eventually the jedi stuff could be changed into something more like this, but it's still a very far away time.
