Thread: Vehicular Control Or Melee Speed?

Which do you think is better to unlock for phase 2? Vehicular control only seems marginally usefull to me since I think my AV and my swoop go pretty darn fast. I know turning is enhanced too, but I'm usually going more or less in a straight line (just to get from point A to B) or plan my turns a few seconds in advance. The buff crystal that comes as a reward for the quest seems pretty darn cool though... That would be my main reason for doing the quest. Melee speed seems like it would be very usefull right up untill you hit Master Saber in something, at which point your speed is capped anyway. After that it's useless, but up untill then I think this would give a very nice advantage.

Any suggestions?

Of couse Melee Speed because that can improve your melee action

Vehicular Control because if you go for master saber, you will cap melee speed anyway. Plus, faster vehicles is more fun!

But when you if you master a saber profession, melee speed is capped. So now you've got 4 skill boxes reserved for something completely useless... sorry, I keep playing devil's advocate with myself.

Well from what i heard last, FS melee spd was above and beyond the cap

Personally I've done both - Vehicle control for the buff crystal (this is worth waiting for 2 phase 2's without question) and melee speed which I will train once I get around to going for Jedi.

Btw, there is no speed cap - you just get diminishing returns the higher your speed goes, so it will probably make negligible difference once you get MLS but will certainly help you get there in the first place.

If and when you get MLS, you can always swap FS Melee speed for Vehicular Control (providing you have the FS xp banked before beginning your Jedi grind).

I'd say Melee speed will help you more when starting Jedi.

Vehicle control doesn't help much at all, but the reward is the 2000+ health buff crystal, which does help in difficult battles.

i already have all my trees unlocked, i just never did the grind for all the xp. heheh but this double xp is very nice, went from 4-11 boxes unlocked in 2 days. just 13 moreto go...but this is some handy info about the melee speed trees. i have it unlocked so i guess i need to just fill it. so how is the ranged defense tree, is that any good to have with jedi.

At MLS if you are going that route the difference is minimal. Before that melee speed does help some. Vehicular control is good for the crystal mainly. You will turn better and start faster on a vehicle thats about it. Nice to have but not 100% needed. I did both.

Yes especially at the beginning of your jedi days it will help against BH's. May only be +20 but it is alot better then 0. Nice to see you are almost finished with your grind.

It seems to me that the FS skills are mostly to compliment your NON-FS skills, not enhance your jedi skills.

This is the path I have taken.

Phase 4 -- Enhanced Reflexes: Melee Defense -- DONE3/41 Banked
Phase 1 -- Combat Prowess: Ranged Accuracy-- DONE1/4 3 Banked
Phase 2 -- Enhanced Reflexes: Vehicular Control-- 4 Banked
Phase 3 -- Enhanced Reflexes: Ranged Defense -- 4 Banked
Phase 4 -- Combat Prowess: Ranged speed -- 1 Banked
Phase 1 -- Enhanced Reflexes: Survival

Master Enhaced Reflexes, and Combat Prowess 44xx

These best compliment my current skill set.
