So when I got to the Village, I wasn't really sure what to do. I know this FAQ is very helpful, but I shouldn't have to have a printed copy of it next to me to play the game.

The DEV's should have mad it slightly more intuitive.

So I talk to the captain guy and he sends me on the PAtrol Quests. Being a Master Commando, I figured I could do it. After some frustration, I completed the 10 patrols in like 2 hours, not bad.

I Talked to the guy who you trade in Xp to. I got quite a bit and it was interesting.

I noticed I had "1 free unlock remaining" so I made my choice and received 1270000 (yes million (I think)) FS XP

So I went over to the training guy and trained 4 boxes up the Melee defense tree.

Where did I get that free unlock? From doing the Patrol Quest?

Where did that million XP come from?

Every time I unlock a branch it's gonna let me train all the way up it?

All and all I think I did OK for my first day, I will continue to read the FAQ and this forum so I can get to Jedi as painlessly as possible.

The free unlock was in no way associated with your quest, but is a reward for your holo-grind. If you didn't holo-grind just consider it a luck bonus for trying out the right professions

Yeha, I thought that may have been it.

I only mastered7 professions and 1 of them was my Holo profession.

Yep, it was not free, you earned it mastering professions.

aye i didnt hologrind particularly did 2 holos, and 9 proffs in all of ten months playing. (Master Politician didnt count iether!) I had done all abdeges because im an explorer i suppose, so was instaglowie. Got my one free tree unlocked and have nto tried to unlock anymore... I may do allt eh quests then fill boxes at leisure.. I might go for padawan just because i want the free account... Although being pure smuggler and Master Force user does suggestto me a bit of fun..

I did 27 professions and was holo with my December Holocron and still hadn't unlocked when they switched the way to Jedi. Went out to the village and I ended up getting 4 unlocks. Finished 2 quest and last week I filled in my 5th branch. now just 2 more boxes till I get the second visit from the old man.

Well not all get that. I had 7 proffs masterd and done 1 holo. No unlock for me. A friend of mine had the same amount. He got a unlock Seems its just random luck that gets you a unlock..

Hangon a sec...

Back in Hologrind, I opened one which said master smuggler, did that...

Opened another which said master pistoleer. Did that. Opened a third, which was master BH. I stopped there. Mastered Medic also along the way, and scout.

When I went to the village, I got no free unlocks. What gives?

Well, I know for a fact I only did one of the professions that I was told to do by openingmy Holocron...

Here's the thing though, it WAS possible to unlock your Jedi (before pub 9) simply by mastering all professions and NEVER opening a holocron.

So basically I opened one Holo and it told me master commando, so I did.

Well, I must have accidently mastered another "secret" holoprofession without knowing it.

I wish I knew which one it was.

I did, M Scout/Ranger M Medic/Doctor M Marksman/Carbineer and lastly Master Commando (the one I opened the holocron to find out).

SO, I went into the village as a Mas Commando (come to find out, lucky me because od the 3:1 combat XP)

And I went in with one unlock
