Ranged defense will be more beneficial to you during the early stages of your jedi grind. Once you advance in sabers, however, ranged defense becomes almost redundant because of saber block.

Luck is basicallya waste of fs skills. You do get a small increase in the amount of credits you loot but to date I have not noticed any improvement in loot drops. The one thing to keepin mind concerning Luck is that you will eventually reach a point in your grind when you cannot kill any NPC's without generating visibility. Early on you have your normal profession skills to use in killing NPC's. As you progress in jedi and lose those normal skills, however, you would have to resort to using force skills to kill an NPC and that = visibility = BH terminal = potential xp loss.

Just my two cents.

But really how many of the mobs that your fighting in the Jedi grind will be using ranged attacks. Ok maybe against BH but how many low level Jedi will not be running (said in his best Forrest Gump voice).

let me just say that if you are taking your skills for the use of your jedi you should take these. Melee speed, defense and accuracy, Ranged Defense, Vehicle control. I can't remember if there is one that gives you a bonus for terrain but if there is you should take it. Those skills will help you at low level Jedi the most.
