I finally got around to getting glowy so I could get some force crafting skills and when I got to the vilage and unlocked a couple of force crafting trees, I've discovered that you can't trade in Shipwright Experiance! Being a Shipwright is my primary source of income and I got force sensetive to ENHANCE my Shipwright skills, but since I dont have master artisian nothing I'm going to make is going to sell properly, but asside from the financial loss, which I dont really mind since mining equip keeps the bank fairly full, the experiance from having to craft personal harvestors is small enough that even at only a 1:8 ratio its taken ALL DAY just to grind out 7k force sensetive crafting exp.

Why can't you trade in Shipwright experiance? It is after all crafting, is it not? At least then I'd be able to get some decent experiance and maybe be able to make some money back on the investment.

Devs have gone on record that they don't want the space game and the Jedi game to mix in any way whatsoever.

Believe me, if you could trade in Pilot XP/Prestige for Combat/Reflexes XP, I'd do it in a SECOND. Would actually give me something to do with that prestige I have laying around.

As a former SW, I can certainly sympathize... just don't expect that to ever change.

you know i would have to agree with the whole prestige xp and such... i wish i could trade that in... cause to get to being a master pilot is some of the hardest things in this game.. cause it relys on your piloting skills...

if it was tradeable you maybe should have specific requirements to allow it.. i know people will say its unfair.. but whatever

you need to be a master pilot to trade in your space xp for cp or er at a 8 to 1 ratio

and your prestige xp at a 3 to 1 ratio...

this way you have to earn the right to trade in the xp

and for sw you need to be master to bank in on the crafting xp and be like a 4 to 1 exchange rate cause it takes alot to make a ship

Pilot I can understand not wanting to mix in, but shipwright?

SW does precisely the same as any other crafter, and get experience much the same way every other crafter does.

They have to trade for not only space resources, but also manage their harvesters, set up vendors, and do all the standard crafter stuff.

Heck, it even takes skillpoints so the only thing that distinguishes them from other crafters is that their products are used solely in space.

Pilot on the other hand does nothing to hamper your template, since it takes exactly 0 skill points.

I'd hate to do it, but I'll drag the droid engineer into the equation too, they craft certain droids and chipsthat are used in space. should they be excluded from force sensitivity as well??

There is NO sensible reason to exclude sw this way.

My guess is they don't allow it because of the amount of XP you get per chassis you craft. As a former shipwright, I know that the chassis took a LOT of resources and therefore gave a larger amount of xp. In order to allow this type of XP to be converted to FS XP, they would have to make the conversion rate extremely high to be fair to everyone else. The end result would be people crafting chassis like crazy and totally dropping the bottom out of the chassis market that is already flooded from shipwrights that are grinding that prof.

As for pilot XP, as much as I would like to see that, pilot XP is just too easy to come by. I have TONS of prestige banked since I became master, and I haven't hardly even flown. The only way they could let us use that would be to make the conversion like 1000:1.

Anyway, I am sure I am the dumbest person in the world and about to be told so, but that is my opinion.

lol no, its a good point. But rather than excluding sw alltogether it'd be dandy if they just, as you say, had a high conversion rate.

If they were to include it, I'm not sure that placing an extrememly high conversion rate on it would be fair either.

Of course you get a lot of xp from chassises, but it also takes a TON of resources.

This is the resources required for a Yt-1300, one of the master ships:

70000 Steel
20000 Low Grade Ore
10000 Aluminum
10000 Inert Petrochemical
10000 Fiberplast
10000 Copper
10000 Siliclastic Ore
10000 Iron

Thats a Grand Total of 150,000 resources! So, yes, you get a lot of experiance, but trust me, it takes just as much away from you in the form of resources.

While that is true, you also get all that XP for only ONE craft after you collect those resources. For a normal crafter, to get that same amount of resources, they would have to collect the 150,000 and then craft 150 things. (ok, this is all rough, but you get the point, right?) and that could take them several more hours.

I would much rather grind in space than on a planet. I get so board I am half asleep or dozing off while grinding. No fun there,... In space you can get faction, and some ship parts atleast. Don't mind the shipwright thing to much,... spent 9 mil to get there and then dumped it after making ships for my alts. LOL
