when i first got the quest all parts including the whole thing were checked off already in my quest journal, even though i have never done this quest or the melee defense version before. i did the quest anyway and everything seemed normal (it said i got a credit every time i killed an outcast or a pirate and the number of that type i had left was displayed, and when the number left got to zero the completed message for that part appeared). when i was done however, no overall completed message appeared. I went to talk to paemos to see if the branch had unlocked as i had heard that this helped avoid a bug but he did not list the branch as unlocked. i went and talked to the captain and he said i have too much on my plate. i continued trying to talk to him as i saw many other people get the same thing but one or two getting the complete message. i got the "too much on your plate" one for a while then the get back out there and do more one for a while, and now it's back to the "too much on your plate" one again and the branch is still not unlocked. please help. thanks.

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

I had the same problem with Captain Sarguillo's phase 4 quest. I eventually had to send in a Customer service ticket and the CSR did the unlock for me. Took a day for them to respond so send it in quick before the phase changes.

Once the phase shifts there is nothing that can be done.

Wrong.

CSR's can unlock any branch at any time. Do a search on this very forum, there are like 2394823490827394872 posts explaining that.

If you are currently in the phase you are having problems with they will unlock it for you if they can verify the logs. I have had many friends get denied from CSR's that state that because it is not in the current phase they can do nothing. This past phase 4 bug was being unlocked by CSR's as it was still phase 4.

Well .. if your many friends had come here and read the many posts on the subject they would have known to submit another ticket, and another, and another if needed until they get a CSR who will play ball.

It has been proven time and time and time again that CSR's can do what they want any time they want.

I have not found one post where they have unlocked a previous quest in the later phase. Please post it as I would like to see it. They have filed many tickets with the same result each time. They have been here and posted here, same result. If you have a post of it plz post it. I know they would like the extra help.

I do agree with you though dont only send in one ticket. If it is closed submit another till you get a CSR to help. The really is no reason why they cant unlock it at any time, just makes sense that they should knowing the bugs as is. Although im not convinced they will, I sure hope they will.

/tiphat trollbacca -good advice either way

I envision the CSR's in this game as minimum wage flunkies who are pissed off at the world and at themselves because they can't get better jobs.

They're just there to clock their 40 and go home, they don't give a piss about you or your problems. I'm convinced most of them haven't even taken the time to learn how to use the power they possess (or maybe they just don't have the intellectual capacity to understand such things).

Any time I submit a ticket I explain in detail that I will not be satisfied with a canned response and I will continue to submit tickets until i'm satisfied that someone actually took a look at my problem. I have talked to many CSRs in this game like they are 3 years old (I even went as far as diagraming my sentences for one of them because I was convinced she didn't know how to comprehend the English language .. she did finally fix my problem .. after 2 hours of me talking to her like she was a 3 year old in the public chat channel), occasionaly you'll get one that has enough brain to think on their feet and they'll work with you to get a problem resolved. Usually you just get the minimum wage flunky attitude.

It's really sad that the player base has to hold the CSRs hands and walk them through doing their job.

As far as the developers, they might be talented at writing code .. and even that is questionable at times, but they have no clue what REALLY goes on in this game. I don't even think they play this game, or any MMORPG for that matter .. they just write code and go home. This can be backed up by looking at posts by the "official people". How many posts have you seen by SOE peeps asking for OUR thoughts on (insert any patch/update # here), or asking what WE have found that is wrong. They aren't asking about ideas on content .. they are asking US how WE think THEY should go about fixing the problems introduced because THEY inplemented faulty code on a live server. WE should not be responsible for debugging their code .. but we are.

But .. hiring minimum wage flunkies and coders/IT peeps who probably can't get jobs anywhere else saves SOE a ton of money, and that's the bottom line I guess.
