Thread: TKA Inate Armor and Jedi Padawan
No sir.
Read the details in your Force Progression column. This is the column that shows you:
Force Sensitive
Jedi Initiate
Jedi Padawan
Jedi Knight
Jedi Guardian
Jedi Master
Specifically, go to the Padawan innate armor (+20) and read what appears when you place your cursor there. It will say that TK innate armor will not factor in the Jedi innate armor. Sorry.
*edit for spelling

TK innate armor WILL work when you are a Jedi as long as your TK innate armor modifier is higher than your Jedi innate armor modifier. This has been confirmed. They will not stack, but the game will use whichever is higher.
As an example (note: all numbers in this example are made up so no guarantees on how reasonable they are)... If your TK innate armor is +25 and your Jedi innate armor is +20, you will have TK innate armor of +25 and no Jedi innate armor. If you then train some defender skills to get Jedi innate armor up to +30, you will have Jedi innate armor of +30 and no TK innate armor.

TKA innate armour would be great choice for someone grinding Powers saber-less. Otherwise, as another poster stated, it ceases to be applied as soon as you equip a saber in favour of Jedi innate armour.
Right, but actually for a new padawan TKA innate armor and COB are still very useful. Once a BH has engaged you, you can't switch to armor for a ranged profession. But if that happens with TKA, you can unequip your weapon, turn on COB. and start running. hehehe.
Agreed. And CoB is still useful to a grinding Padawan, you simply have to unequip your saber, hit CoB, and re-equip your saber. While I still had some TKA skills I would pull the mob (either with a CM poison/fire or with Novice Powers /forcehit) then do unequip/CoB/reequip while the mob was running towards me. By the time it was within melee range I was CoB'd, saber in handandready to go and my DoT's were alreadyticking.

That's some fantastic advice.
I'm sure it'll be nerfed now, but really good advice none the less.
I'm pretty sure that as long as your TK innate armor is greater than your Jedi innate armor, it will be used even if you have your saber equipped. The theory is that it doesn't matter what weapon you have equipped - TK innate armor still applies as long as you aren't wearing any armor. I would suspect you could confirm this by equipping a regular sword and seeing if your TK armor stillapplies - I would imagine it's the same algorithm for sabers.

Last I checked the consensus was that TK innate armor did not work with a weapon equipped except for possibly the vibro knucklers. Though I admit it has been something that melee stackers have been trying to prove or disprove for a very long time.
