I am thinking of keeping my main (speccing him back after padawan) and using the sec char as the Jedi. But I have some questions from experienced players.

There is no way back for a character once he becomes fs or jedi. Even if you can still respec it works only for same type skills, like basic, elite, jedi.

Could Dax's statment quoted above be the dumbest thing anyone has ever said on these forums?

It's quite possible.

You must not understand the question being asked, since it obviously is complicated for you allow me to simplify it a bit. When you are finished with padawan is when the second char unlocks. At that point not when I am finished with the Jedi template is when I am planning to grind back mt old CL80 BH template. Of course I am not going to make a CL80 Jedi and spec out of it, it would be more intelligent to just buy a new account for that.

your alt unlocks as soon as you finish the paddy trials btw. you dont have to fill the template at all, just get the novice paddy box.....which i believe is impossible to drop

I still don't understand what you are asking. After you finish the padawan trials is when you are given the padawan title and unlock the second slot. You cannot drop the padawan title or box. This second slot CANNOT be your jedi.Way backduring hologrinding the second slotted char became your jedi, but that has long been gone. This second char will be like any other new char to the server. You can regrind the entire village if you want on this second toon, but he will not be the Jedi at the unlock.

No - it is YOU who are not understanding. The data I posted above is just for FS to Jedi Initiate - it doesn't include a single xp point of Jedi experience.

Once you finish your exit quest you cannot drop your 24 points of FS skills - period - there is no way around it - if you delete the toon you lose your second slot.

So before you post again making out like I don't know what I'm talking about - try to bare in mind that I have ground out two full template Jedi - one apre-publish 9 4444 Guardianand one post CU with the villiage. I know what I am talking about dude.

If you use your second slot for your Jedi, not only will you have to spend another 18 weeks grinding out your 6 FS trees all over again on your new toon - but your main will be stuck with 24 practically uselessFS skills forever. I'm trying to save you a lot of grief - but if you don't want to listen and want to go find out for yourself, I'm not yuor keeper - feel free.
