As it stands right now i have unlocked 4 branches: Melee Speed, Melee Accuracy, Ranged Speed, and Ranged Accuracy. that means i have two more branches that i want to unlock. The other two branches i want to unlock are Ranged Defence in phase3, and melee defence in phase 4.

It so happens that right now it is phase one. For phase two the only thing that even remotly interests me is vehicular control (because i already have melee speed). The thing is... that is a waste of 4 skill points that i will need once i become jedi. I dont really want to wait an extra three weeks for phase 3 to roll around again and then have to wait another 3 for phase 4 because i want to get startee on the jedi grind.

My question is; Can i grind out vehicular control in phase 2, ranged defense in phase 3 and get initiate, then when phase 4 comes around grind out melee defense and drop vehicular control? Or will i have to wait 3 weeks so i dont waste those 4 skill points on vehicular control?

Well, if you want Ranged Defence in Phase3, and Melee Defence in Phase4 - you have to wait for Phase3 and Phase4 to unlock the branches with the quests. You can grind your XP meanwhile, so you just have to do the quest, unlock and then learn the boxes from Noldan in Aurilia... I have 2.45 million force XP stocked already and I am waiting for Phase2 and Phase3 atm

The best solution is to bank up an extra branches worth of xp. Then you can unlock asap with whatever is available, then 3 weeks later train a different branch and drop whatever branch you don't like. I think most people with no free unlocks will end up doing this, due to the placement of the useful desirable skills in the phases. (either that or just live with a skill or two that's useless)

Anything is better than waiting.

To answer the question though, yes you can do it this way and pick one up and unlock later then drop. The problem with that is that it is a lot of grinding Xp to do it. If you don't mind that and just want it 3 weeks earlier, then go for it. After you unlock you will have a Jedi grind, and a FS XP grind at the dame time which is a daunting task. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but you can not convert Jedi XP in FS XP, so they would really be2 completely separate grinds.

Good Luck

also, unless its been changed and i havnt seen anything to say otherwise, ive heard from many people on this board that you can NOT drop FS skills once you train them. if this is true you migt wanna wait a few weeks. if its not then please correct me.

I surrendered Melee Defense I with no problem. Needed the SP for my normal activities.

Ive heard of people dropping skills, but i also read that once you became initiate that those FS skills you had were undroppable. if thats the case i dont want to have vehicular control. i was going to see if any of you knew for sure that you could or could not drop the FS skills you had after initiate.

The grind doesnt bother me. it wouldnt take me that much longer to get that branch. i just dont want to waste those valuable skill points

There have been posts on this forum of people doing exactly what you want to do.

If you search for them you can most likely find them.

The rule is that you need to have six Tier IV Force Sensitive boxes. It doesn't say WHICH boxes, but you always need at least six. So what you CAN do is get any six, then grind up a SEVENTH and drop one of your old ones. This way, your total never drops below six.
