Or it is just me? I can't get past mission 7, I've completed it 3 times now, and the captain tells me each time I failed!

Make sure to read the instructions. If its a group larger than three and you attack/kill any of the party you'll fail.

If thats not the problem, I don't know what it could be.

im such a noob....i just read the fine print....ugh,,, what a waste of time because i wasnt careful

Don't worry, the mission is not bugged.

This missions is more of how well you follow instructions rather than what your strength and power is.

You can attack Sith at your waypoint if it is a group no larger than 3.You may see a message like "You see a lone figure after a battle" or "You hear footsteps in the wind, you feel that your not alone". Usually they will either be pirates or outlaws.

However, If you see a message as you come across a waypoint that says "You happen to come across a party or large group". Don't approach any further. Hang out if you like or just continue to the next waypoint. The waypoint will disappear eventually.

You will also fail the patrol if you attack sith that is not at your waypoint and they are thug, pirate or otherwise.

Final advice, if you can help it; don't rush it. Take your time and check the area before you approach. Especially for the 2nd set of the 10 patrols when the waypoints will go out even further and you will encounter creatures then.
