Thread: Another simple fix to the Jedi population thread. 0_O!! (Small, but it makes everyone HAPPY!!)
It would also reduce the number of second accounts andcross server lot swapping.
...but they'll never do it... it makes too much sense.
This is the *ONLY* MMO where a second character can aid the main one.

Give everyone a 2nd character slot based on a quest not linked with Jedi, period.
I know a lot of people that are doing the FS grind just to get another character, be it for lots, crafting, another combat profession, an entertainer, etc. Why not just make it so people can get what they pay for? This is the *ONLY* MMO I have ever played where you only had one character. Giving a 2nd character to more people would boost the economy, allow for more game options (be a fun dancer/entertainer AND have a deadly sniper!), and allow the people that want to be a hybrid (crafter/combat) not suffer so much. My buddy has just started the game, and wants to be a Tailor. Her being a Tailor will COMPLETELY destroy her combat level, never allowing her to be up-to-par with the CL80s. Why not give a 2nd character so she can enjoy the fun of Tailor, WHILE having a fun combat profession mix. I mean hell, I'm a TKA again, and I'm bored to death. We get what...a whopping 3 moves? One of hte coolest things I remember being a pre-CU TKM, Swordsman, Pistoleer, etc, is the fact that when you progressed, you saw a difference. You would get some neat move or something. Like with Swordsman, one of them you would slash like 5 times and finish with like a behind-the-back stab (Area 1 or 2 i think, its been a long time). I LOVED that. I'm half tempted to become TKM and pick up swordsman Power Attack just so I can get my favorite roundhouse move back (old TKM UnarmedHit3). She'll be limited to a BORING, 3 animations? Something like that. Its almost worth it to pick up another profession just so you have something else to look at instead of 3 moves. Hell, even using MELEE STRIKE has the same animation, no variation. I just ram something with my shoulder, over and over again. I dunno, it just seems a easy fix to make ALL players happy, is to give a 2nd character slot.
How could you be unhappy when given something like a 2nd character? Easy - you can't. This would also help the quit a few people going Jedi just for a 2nd character slot which they should have had in the first place. Although the impact to the Jedi population by slowing the newcomers would be small, it's the fact that it would make EVERYONE happy, and give the players something they all would like.
So in conclusion, give us a 2nd character slot. >_>
NOTE: Yes, some of you might say "well, it wouldn't make the Jedi happy, some might become BH to 'grief' them." The thing about this, is that it also slows down Jedi, although I'd bet you 10:1 that most would become a crafter. Heck, I want to be a Chef! Not to mention that BH can't pick specific Jedi to hunt anymore other than faction. Just my 2 cents.
Any thoughts? And please no flames, this is just an idea I. I'd like it if any/all replies to this are at least constructive. Thank you in advance for any and all replies!

want the slot, do the quests, loose the 24 pts like everyone else.
For you guys saying:

GlargTheKelfn : "want the slot, do the quests, loose the 24 pts like everyone else. "
I'm not sure if maybe you've seen any of my other posts, but heres something that bursts that little thing... I unlock next phase, with the exp ready and waiting. I get my 2nd character, I lose my 24 points like everyone else, I did and will continue my quests. SOOOO....yeah. >_>
As for the main point though, its just sad that everyone doesnt just get their 2nd character slot. SURE! make it quest based. Make it take some work, but don't link it to Jedi. As for the money issue, its just...wrong. Just about EVERY game having another character can support the first. Show me one that cant? Say you make a crafter type class or "moneymaker" class on the same account ,doesnt it contribute to the main character even if it's with money? 0_o!

Or get a 2nd account, save all that time you'd have to do for grinding, to playing your main and alt. If it takes you 6 months to grind all FS and unlock the alt, thats 6 x $14.99 saved, unless you want all those FS skills

UO: Main character - A knight...full armor, swords, etc..
Alt character - Miner/Smith to create and repair weapons/armor (items shared via castle)
EQ: Main character - BL and/or my SK
Alt character - Druid porter (taxi) for cash. (cash shared easily via bank)
WoW: Main character - Warlock, tailor & skinner (mail skins to alt leatherworker, mail crafted cloth armor to other alt, a priest for example)
Alt character - Hunter, leatherworker & skinner (mail crafter leather armor to alt chars..)
I'm pretty sure most MMOs you can benefit yourself by having more than one char on a server. All that i've played anyway.
