I have played SWG since June 29 of 2003.
I have experienced every aspect fo the game except for high level Jedi content. I don't have much good to say about the development of SWG. I'm just being honest, look at the forums for the long list of legitimate grievences posted by players; there is no need to list them, again, here. I want to submit positive feedback so that more similar content can be added.
The operative word in that statement is content. Phase 3: Melee Accuracy FS quest is quality content. It is difficult. It requires strategy. I already have a Jedi and did not do this quest, but my 2nd toon helped a friend. We had a 3 person group, and each person had a role. We looked on the forums for assistance, but it was still extremely difficult. You need to collect dynamic content, this was good. Then youfind places, this too was good. Once we get there, first try we got mauled outright. Then we get the defenses down, but still get mauled. Frustrating. Then we get in, but fail to get out and get mauled. Then we get out, but failed because we dallied along the way. Then we get mauled again. Finally we get there after assembling a team of me, and my 2 best friends.
We grouped! We had a smuggler. We had a doctor/swordsman. And we had me, 4403 marksman/3000 scout. Woot. I played the role of rear defender and intercepted the pirates. Yeah I was buffed and working within a broken system, but you know I did it without killing anything. Ijust delayed them long enough for the others to do their job. The swordsman cleared the pathway for the runner. The runner... he ran!
DWB/CC is not content for me. I've done them, wasn't challenging because it was based completely on the broken combat system. RIS (I'm an Armorsmith) is boring, static content. Hero of Tatooine was cool. It's late, I'm probably forgetting something, but the missions get old, theme parks get old, this was refreshing. Very refreshing.
It was frustrating through the middle, oh sure it was, but the feeling afterwards has got me pumped. I have not had this much fun since I did my first bounty hunter mission (my first non-startingprofession.) Before that, it was doing my first destroy mission. Before that it was my first delivery mission after learning how waypoints worked. That was a long, long time ago folks!
You know you've (developers) got alot of work to do in regards to the CURB. I've seen 18 months of "less-than-desirable" content/gameplay changes, we all have, and we've got a reason to be doubtful. Hopefully we'll see some more stuff like Phase 3: Melee Accuracy quest. If we do, and the combat system is fixed, and specialized content for individual classes (ie. smugglers smuggle), then SWG will continue to retain my interest/patronage (and get new subscribers.) Nudge =)

/agree 100%
This quest is one of the best times I have had in the game ever. Something that actually rquires thinking instead of running in and just beat on everythin until it lies still.
I am also currently waiting for my friends to show up and help me kill Mellichae. I am expecting that to be an equal of not bigger challenge....
It is content like this we want in the game... Well, at least that I want.....

I fully agree, prior to this post all you see is people complaining about this and that. If we expect the Dev's to listen we should give them a /pat on the back when we find something we like. BTW my first elite profession was also BH, kinda fun stalking your prey

So true. We had like 10 members of my guild out last night until 3 am to finish this quest. It was a little bugged because our thugs kept despawning before we finished killing them, but it was awesome to see a group of us coming together to make this quest happen.
This quest is definitely one that is worth the effort.

/agree!! The capture-the-commander quest is definitely a five-star piece of content. The Thugs, Pirates, and Outlaws are every bit as tough as non-Jedi elite-level players, complete with working specials. They're just as likely to whup out a stun baton as drill you with a 3600-damage Stopping Shot. (I've been on the receiving end of both, and many other attacks.) So it gives players two approaches to the scenario: brute force or finesse.
I also /agree with expressing my appreciation for quality content when the developers get it right. IMHO, they also deserve high marks for The Warren, now that the bugs are all fixed. I especially liked reading the reports on the terminals as part of the data-gathering process, and the interactive search for the Widow's dead husband. Made me feel like I was sifting through the aftermath of a really crazy science-fiction story.

I'm all for challenging content, but I am a casual gamer and what little time I get to play I like to make use of it. On that note after all the time and struggle to get inside and get the commander only to find that he was bugged and not there was almost enough to make me puke.

The thesis of my note was not that I have done everything in the game, but experienced every aspect.
Yes, I have done every aspect of the game. Mandalorian armor? Jetpack? Those arespecific features, singular events, whichare different than aspects. An aspect would be crafter, entertainer, ranged combat, melee combat, medic, pve loot hunting, pvp, faction farming, participating as a leader in a guild, and a player city.
In the future I suggest you examine posts closer and understand the author's context and purpose.
Wow your funny. First, your the one telling me I need to examine posts closer, but if you examineMY post, I said I wasnt being a smart@$$. If you HAD done those things(I wanted to make sure you had first) I was going to send a hearty congrats your way, as they take much work, and some people have. Since you choose to be an @$$ about it though, nevermind. And I have to disagree with your whole counterargument there anyway, friend. You said you had 'experienced every aspect of the game', which is different, you say, then 'doing everything in the game'. You choose to call Mandalorian armor and Jetpacks 'features' of the game, a word which is interchangable with 'aspects'. And furthermore, you say an 'aspect' of the game, by your logic, is having mastered a profession, lead a guild, pvp'ed. How is that any different that having obtained Mandalorian armor or a Jetpack? Their both things you have done, and anything in the game you CAN do, or aquire, is part of the game(or an aspect) I dont give a damn anymore man, as I stated at the beginning I thought you might have accomplished getting either of those things, for which I was going to congratulate you, but your the one that turned it into some pathetic debate over words.

yeah the feeling was great when the quest was completed, but quickly turned to anger when I found out I'd have to do it again because I didn't get credit.
