Thread: Unlocked wrong tree, can I disregard?

Of course I read the stickied guides but I'm still unclear.

As a new Village visitor, I unlocked Enhanced Reflexes: Survival in Phase I.

Now I realize that I don't want that tree. Am I forced to train it or can I move on to the exact trees of my choice?

Of course you can ignore it. :-)

I've done a couple village quests that I didn't need to do, just because I was bored and had nothing else to do. Haven't traineda single box in any of them.

The attitude of "I must train every branch I unlock" is here only because people are trying to get to Jedi in the fastest time possible.

This guy is right, you can ignore the unlocked branch if you want to. However, you'll delay your exit quest by 3 weeks if you do. Personally I plan to unlock and train Survival when Phase 1 comes around again just to get exit quest as soon as possible, then I'll unlock and train Luck in the following Phase 3, dropping Survival. I'll be Jedi grinding by then and using my valuable skill points for something useful instead of for augmenting scout skills I don't have.

Good luck to you.

Does this mean that you can train all 16 trees if you care to do so?

Provided you do the unlocks for them, absolutely.

Yes, but I would strongly recommend not doing so.

The Xp requirements for a single branch is 36,750,000 Weapons Xp (3,675,000 Combat) or 1,225,000 FS Xp. Not including the 50k FS Xp required to unlock the skill.

To attain padawan, you have to complete 6 branches or 220,500,000 Weapons Xp + The 50k FS for each tree you unlock.

This is roughly the equivalent of starting a new character and mastering Swordsman 52 times.

All 16 branches equates to 588,000,000 Weapons Xp or mastering Swordsman 138 times.

Not exactly, Its like mastering swordsman 52 times WHILE already a master. Grinding out a profession while already master of it doesn't take as long as starting from novice.

You might want to rethink that. Survival is one of the few trees the Jedi can use. The fs survial tree gives you a little terrain negotiiation and the ability to use camps. Most Jedi look for terrain negotiation SEAs so they can run up small hills. This can be useful when grinding Jedi.Sometimes your MOB target will run away from you and you need to catch them. Also if a bounty hunter catches you offguard and you don't have Force Run yet, you can get yourself killed when trying to run up a small hill. Iam a Padawan andfilled the Luck tree. I unlocked survival but didn't fill it. I'm now thinkingabout spending 3 points there to get the terrain negotiation instead of spending 15 for novice scout.

If I have my choice I would have Melee Defense, Ranged Defense, Melee Accuracy, Melee Speed, Luck, Survival.

BTW Melee speed gets capped when you hit master LS so it might be better to drop that after you get there.

Wow, that's solid information. I'll consider swapping out vehicle control for survival.

Thanks for the insight.
