That's what I'm thinking of doing.

What I've heard is that it is possible to reallocate your FS skill points as a Jedi, but in order to do that we'd first have to fill a seventh line, then drop the unwanted line. Like many people in the FS Forum, I have five branches unlocked, and really want Melee Defense for my final branch. But if this thing doesn't get fixed before the village rolls back to phase 1, I'll go with whatever's expedient then, and pick up Melee Defense later.

This is exactly what I am doing...I was able to shave months off of my grind by taking the survey quest instead of waiting for ranged defense. I would definitely recommend it, as being a jedi (even a low-level one) is awesome! I have not regretted it one bit - I'm even thinking of keeping survey just so I never see another crate of grenades again. After grinding Jedi for a few weeks now, I think the FS skills matter so little overall that it makes no difference which ones you choose (I chose MDef, Luck, Survey, Persuasion, MSpeed, MAccuracy btw.).
