I am very new into the phase quests, and only have one branch unlocked currently. But I figure that while I have the money(which is going to dwindle quickly at a quick pace with imp det's) I should buy a few force crystals. I have advertised on my server trade forum for people to post if they sell them, and I got a reply from someone who sells colored and an occasional clear. I checked the stickies and didn't SEE anything(not that it means it isn't there of course, I have been known to overlook thing like that quite often) about the crystals, but I assume that if its clear that has something to do with damage?
And also, if I recall, you can't actually view the stats until you are jedi? Anyhow, just a curiosity as I would like to have a few purchased in advance.
Thanks a bunch in advance!

Honestly, Crystals are so easy to come by that their value is really only relative to the person in need, Also on its quality. Usually the more difficult the critter was obtained from the more power the crystal has. (its quality) I have seen them go from 125k to 20mil

As stated, only clears affect the damage your sabre will do. They range from poor, fair, good, quality, select, to premium. Only a Jedi can tell the quality. You can see the condition (and higher is better of course, but not the most essential thing). Once you're a Jedi, you "tune" the clear, to make it useable in your sabre. Once tuned, only the Jedi who tuned it can ever use it. Premiums are supposed to give better tunes. In reality there's so much randomness that you can tune a premium and have it turn out to be nothing but garbage, while a quality or good can tune to a very nice crystal. There are no guarantees. I've gone through 3 trashed premiums. The one I currently am using was a quality.

I have a crystal in the bank that is green color...but when I examine it, the description says that it is a crystal which needs to be tuned by a Jedi. What dis mean? I thought the color crystals don't need tuning, only the clear ones from what I've read?

everything i have heard from Jedi friends is that unless the crystal is really good, Pearls are the way to go. I'll probably unlock in a week or so, maybe 2 (i don't grind xp, just get it through my usual play)...and except for my training saber, will likely use pearls for levelling Jedi. Only 20 pearls so far :/ must.fight. more. dragons

If you want to use a crystal it must be tuned by you, both damage and colour.

color is simply the color the saber will be. get a couple because you will get board looking at the same color all the time. The clear ones are damge, they have a rating(only jedi can see this), poor, fair, quilty, premium, ect. when you tune the clear ones, they will have stats, that is how much they will enhance the samber. The main stats are damamge, and force cost. As you get to higher levels, you can make sabers that can hold more then one damage crstal. Krayt pearls can be used in the place of the damage crystal(s). with the krayt boom i would get pearls as fast as you can, and only buy crystals if the price is right, ( I wouldn't go above 50-100k myself, but i have enough at the moment.)

One more thing, that price was for damage crystals, color will be a lot less because they drop off low level stuff and can be farmed easy. on tempest they are going for 10-25k depending on the color

Thanks Telvox, that helps.
I guess I should also mention that I won't be famring any myself at the moment, considering what I have to kill for the grind, and by the time I can actually use them I will probably not try and fight humanoid npc's, which would get me on the radar, right?
So far on my server I got a WP for 50k colored crystals and 100k clear crystals when they are in stock, so I guess that is a good deal.
