Anyone got tips to make the old guy get here a little faster?

For the 348749822479243797487 time. There are no tricks to make him come faster. He comes when he comes. Some people think shuttling 438792347 times to places then logging on and off 4 times at the 10 min mark of each hour, some say go out of the city and flex then shuttle to another city, etc. All i did was shuttle to Endor and 3 hrs left till the server restarted (back when it was daily) and 5 mins later he showed up. I didn't shuttle form city to city and do all that nonsense. Your best bet is to go and wait on the planet you chose to do your end quest on or if you don't care then just play the game as you normally would. When your account is flagged and the timer for you is up he will show up.

Some tips :
+ give him a motorized wheelchair
+ Go visit him in a retire home more often
+ dont be standing on tatooine, cause it is hard to walk in sand, not to mention to drive in your wheelchair
+ Try flying in space, he might just board your ship.
+ Get master ranger and use AREATRACK to find him and talk to him

But I hear he got a wheellock on his wheelchair, might not even come to visit you

No, really, there's some superstitious things you can try like shuttling, or logging out/loggin in.

I recommend just going about your day as usual, stick around the planet and city you'd like to have Mellichae's mission near (i recommend someplace desolate like Lok).

Definitely logout outside in the city near where you want to fight Mellichae. A lot of people get visited at login (myself, both times) or after shuttling.

With shuttling it looks like he's RIGHT there when you load in. With logging in, it seems like he's got about a 5 to 15 minute timer, then he appears.

No real tips before the FS grind, but choose the patience line when you unlock.

It's called the "Bugged Captain" Phase 4 quest.
And the only real way to beat that, much like the Old man, is with patience.
