Hmmm. This sounds like a bug. Please correct me if I am wrong but when you meet the Old Man he gives you the crystal and the sith will come looking for you to take it from you so you really cannot miss them.
3. After I see the old man should i just stay in the same place to await them? (rests alot on the first two answers though)
No, you do not need to stay in the same place. Just keep out of NPC cities and you should be ok. Since you are about to meet a level 75 and a level 77 sith thug (and more in the camp that follows as well) if you feel they sound tough I would suggest to get in a group hunt after you meet the Old Man and stay in the group so when the sith thugs attack you have company to help.
4. Should the quest log have the sith attack as checked before i actually fight them?
No, not really.

Hmm, sounds really odd.
If you have the Sith Ambush already in the journal as completed you "should" have the waypoint to the Sith Camp.
If you have the Sith Camp also marked as completed in the journal, you "should" have a waypoint to the village.
If you have both sith and no waypoint (but know where the village is) I would just head out there and see if you can enter the village, if you can, don't worry about the back end stuff, just go from there. If you can't enter the village and have both Sith as completed, I'd send in a ticket on a bugged quest

Ok I have received the force crystal from the old man and started to wait on the sith to attack. I only waited 2 min and then started to shuttle around until I got bored waiting. WhenI logged on the next day I was visited by the Old Man again (which i thought was weird), immediately I checked my inventory and found that the previous force crystal was missing. So I accepted the one from this new old man.
I moved shuttleport after 2 mins then finally checked the quest log and it had the meeting with the old man checked and also the sith lord attack checked. I have not even seen the sith lords even though I think the log says that I have.
So my questions are:
1. How much time should expire between old man - sith attack?
2. On my first encounter with the old man did I miss the sith attack, hence the reason for the second visit?
3. After I see the old man should i just stay in the same place to await them? (rests alot on the first two answers though)
4. Should the quest log have the sith attack as checked before i actually fight them?

Thanks for your replies guys, even with all the info on these boards it is sometimes hard to find an exact answer.
Well logged on yesterday evening and got my sith attack just before I was changing ports. They were lvl 75 and 77, I am lvl 76 so it seemed fairly even (after I stopped running around and screaming like a little girl :smileytongue. Beat them, ran over the camp (went too damn close, hence more screaming, crying and running), sorted them.
Now I am at the village trying to understand why the pirates are lower level than the thugs hehe.
