Pretty much a waiting game at this point. I know that the old man visited me in about 24 hours, I logged out and in alot, just sat near the 0,0 marker on tat. From what I hear the little tricks like that still work post cu. As for the sith, same thing works to bring them on, reading alot about them not dropping "usable" datapads or none at all.

pretty much anywhere as long as it is at least 1k meters from a NPC city.

that 1km range is not true, i found an old man (yes, alone lol) at 300 mtrs from Mos Espa

1km is false as my old man found me about 150-200 m outside kaadara when i was getting a droid from orbit for a bh mission
