Thread: why do I NEED CL80?

current'y I'm CL 56. I'm a Master TKA, Master Brawler, Master Dancer.

I've read alot of threads posting how you NEED to be CL80 to go jedi. You NEED CL80 to grinf XP fast. You NEED CL80 to beat the Sith.

Point of fact . .you don't NEED to be CL80. I know what some are thinking . . . but I can't solo rancors if I'm not CL80. You're right, you can't. This isn't a solo game (unless you already hit Jedi at which point apparently all bets are off). Group up . . . tag team stuff . . . stop logging with the anticipation of playing solo. This is a Massive MULTI-player game . . . take advantage of that. Tired of always being alone? Join a guild. Most guilds will have someone on at any time in the day.

As a CL56 I've little to no trouble taking on Sith with the help of one other person or going out with larger hunting parties and makeing dewbacks or jax an endangered species. CUmade it so it would be beneficial to group. Not solo grouping but actually interacting with other players.

I personally find it deplorable that other are telling people to "drop doctor causeits worthless now" or "dancer is holding you back . . . you should drop it" Combat is a BIG part of this game . .no question but its not the only thing his game as to offer. Being diverse isn't a setback . . . its a benefit.

Too many people are being driven by the grind . . . . the grind never ends . . . especially IF you hit Jedi. So please . .stop letting the grind control your game play. The grind shouldn't control you . . . you should control the grind.

Personally Cl54 means you've mastered SOME elite combat class you can use the most powerful weapons availble to you so I don't see where the problem lie. I've also never seen a village group be so picky as to turn down people based on thier CL. Personally there are many people that are only in the village to open up thier second character slot not to go full jedi. If they devs were more reasonable you should get your second slot at glowy rather than do all the training.

thats what makes me so angry about the CU any master combat prof should make you an 80 not a 54.... like for instance i might have sounded harsh but im frustrated myself like i have a master weapon smith char with a CL of 1 and just for giggles i started messin with pilot and so i grind up to teir 3 in 1 day then i get sent to jabba's palace and guess what i messed up on not doing the mission on tier 2 from tat docking station then it hit me i cant get into jabba's to continue pilot now i have to grind a combat prof even beyond novice now just to get past the 1st missions of cl 30 or 40 tuskens for jabba's theme park..

its not that im hostile towards my fellow player im just frustraded with the facts that no matter what you need a combat prof and you actually need 2 master profs now if you want to be anything of value in this game... i always though it was cool that a dancer could just dance or whatever and a doctor did buffs and heals but generally i learned you had to do most yourself and thats when the game had a huge active bunch. i had wound packs, brandy, canape, stims, and it was good enough on some server it was hard to find dancers and medics most of the time they where just healing tumblers for xp. so the game wasnt perfect by any means but to make us soo dependant on each other sucks and to make it where some get the burden even sucks more.. im angry cause yeah before cu i had millions now ive got 1.8 mill left and seem to be going down hill just to finish odd this damn fs grind... its sad the group is hitting a critter for 200 400 dmg me or a rifleman hit and you see 1200 1500 or min 800 and guess what your getting chewed on the only time its fun is when you cave a group of 80 ranged and wipe out the critter in a few seconds..

I'm CL 61 (master rifle/master marksman with a little BH) and I solo level 76s, with the help of my faithful probot droid, and I've moved 4 boxes closer to jedi since the CU.

My alt, who is combat lvl 80 due to being master doc/master sl with marksman 0044, has no problem taking on sith shadows one or two at a time with her little laser carbine.

Keep on dancing. It would be a very sad galaxy if all the dancers and musicians went full combat.

I think I explained this in another thread but here it goes again...

At CL 54, if you are out hunting with a group killing CL 82 Gurks, you are not recieveing the full amount of exp you could. Every level you go up increases the amount of exp you get. Therefore, it WILL take you MUCH longer to get all that FS exp you needespecially if you go reflexes and combat (which is where the skillsare that are helpful to Jedi). Sure I CAN be done, but I wouldn't do it. Also, you will get killed 100000000000000000000 times as a Jedi at CL54. You are BH bait, I'd kill you in probably about 10 hits, more then enough so that you never break out of stopping shot. Jedi is a combat profession, a PvP profession.

Ooooooohhhhh, it's all about how FAST you can get to jedi!! Do you get a prize if you get there first? Sadly I won't get it because I won't unlock the last skill I need for a couple more phases, by which time I should have more than sufficient FS XP at my current rate. And your 1000000000000000000000 figure sounds unsupported, could you show me the figures behind that sum? It doesn't seem to match up with my experience grinding with padawans. And as far as being able to get me in 10 hits, you can try it, but you might wind up at the cloner's with some of my mbh friends that I've dueled, because I can take you down with my rifle in 5 (or less, if I get a good critical hit in).

I think I explained this five minutes ago to yet another one of you overbearing "my way is the only way" type gamers (do you have a clone factory somewhere?), but here it goes again . . . . there are many ways to play this game. Going around claiming that your way is the only way to do it is not only incorrect, it indicates an unfortunate lack of social skills that qualifies you to go around knocking on doors trying to convert people to your religion but isn't very conducive toward earning you friends, respect, the power you apparently crave, things like that.

his estimate on you being an easy target are just about accurate. If a ch lvl 80 MBH came after you ch lvl 50 whatever, you will be dead quick. you will not have the Ham to support his onslaught of attacks. Plus you can only heal once a minute if using stims. As a padawan you are easy bait no matter what you pull out your pocket, trust me. BH's are going after the quick paydirt, i.e padawans under 150k. Unless you have healer in your jedi temp, you will go down fast. All they will do is root you, knock you down, 2 hits, /deathblow. Without defenses in your padawan template, there are MANY bounty hunters that will take you out in a few shots. I have seen it done. Ive also been hit for some unreal damage from BH's as well.

YES YOU DO NEED AND 80!!!!

And some reason's why #1 im an 80 and a tired of baby sitting non 80's

as a MBH Mcarb with some pistols and nice weapons i hit for alot of dmg so as other carbineers and rifleman's know we tank the npc's always come after us. chewing on out armor and if it wasnt for our dmg output it would take ya 30 to 45 minutes to do 1 mission. in a hard grind session i can chew up a nice set of armor that costs me 250k to 500k in a few days while you so happy to group and not get mauled on peeps get the same payouts and not even wear armor while im dropping on average about a mill a week on burning up weapons and armor... to make it short and sweet i dont care about your toon and what ya like to do the CU sucks and unless you provide a usefull skill like medic or CM i dont want you in a group and i know alot of others are going that way cause id rather rip through a mission and get my pathetic payout in 5 minutes rather than make a day out of 1 mission and take all the dmg.

#2 i can still solo village missions and i dont like too depend on other people to do what i want to do im the jerk that will watch you die from a thug just for sick entertainment its not my fault you want to continue giving worthless buffs as a dancer......but i will help other people get an 80 any time and will even do missions with them for a while just to help them become an 80 but they have no interest in it like you well your death is not my prob and your failed fs quests isnt my prob either i will help those that help themselves....... sound like a jerk yeah i sure am to have alot of friends i sure do to i have power groups of 80's yes i do do we help make alot other people become 80's yes we do this isnt our fault look at your self and ask what this CU balanced why should i burn a mill a week for a dancer and other non combat profs the CU doesnt need anymore.... facts are Combat,Artisan Crafters, and CMs are the only skills not a waiste of time... its sad when 90 % of my wounds are healed by jedi now anyway. all we need to do is dump dancer then the devs wont have a choice but to remove the BF.. so get an 80 and shut up!!!!!!

I hope all other tanks do what im doing and mabey this CU will be put in the dumpster where it belongs!!!!!

yeah thats rigth theres a middle fingure right at ya!!!!!!!!!

to be honest when I saw your temp, my first thought when I saw Master Dancer was WHY???.... You have an offensive template then pick up dancer, makes no sense. Add to your melee and ranged defenses by picking up a combat profession and you will be better off even if you arent grinding. I hope you dont plan to PVP, because if you do you will be dead quick.... I know you said being diverse is a benefit, but most people with either take a social char (i.e dancer, musician) or combat profession very rarely both. If you find this profession fun then /tiphat to ya. After all this game is about having fun with your char. Eventhough I would not have done a template like that,as long as you enjoy it then thats all thatshould matter.

I havent even fully read your post or the replies to it. But Im just gonna drop this little bit of info on you. Last night I was in a group of 7 level 80's and myself a 61. In the middle of a fight, someone says, "oh the leader logged. Let make a new group". So Im fighting some urinsor thingies im hitting him with my laser carbine but he ran over to me. He's hitting me. Im hitting him. It's a matter of time before he's dead cause i could take the damage. Then I typed /disband. He killed me in 2 shots. CL80 will put you on par with the higher level mob's and players. If they are significantly higher in cl than you, the bonues they pick up are incredible. And believe me, for jedi, witht he xp youll want from killing higher mobs. and to defend yourself from cl 80 bh's, you will need the cl 80 just to put you on the same playing field. Then your skills and strategies will make the difference. That is the purpose of the cu.
