According to the FAQ, in step 1 I should purchase a "Satellite Tracking Device Assembly Kit" from a "Gadget Specialist". I don't seem to be able to do that. Here's what is happening...

I spoke to the Chief Engineer in the village to get the quest.

I had him give me a waypt to the gadget specialist in Coronet.

When I speak to the gadget specialist, she tells me to speak to a ticket droid to get the rights to an abandoned satellite. I did NOT do this (per the warning in the FAQ.) However I can not get the gadget specialist to offer an assemble kit for sale.

The only 2 things that may be unusual about my situation are: I already have the crafting fs xp for this tree banked and I already have all the parts for the satellite in a bag in my inventory.

Any suggestions?

As background, here is the info from the FAQ on this quest:

CM - Repair - Chief Engineer of Aurilia (5390, -4122) - Aurilian Sculpture 2/4

Step 1: Goto Keren, Coronet, or Mos Entha to speak with a "Gadget Specialist" (You can get wp's to any of these from Alpoka). You must purchase a "Satellite Tracking Device Assembly Kit" for 530 credits.
Step 2: Complete the kit (Requires, Tracking Device Assembly Bracket First, Second and Third Segment; Tracking Device Case First, Second and Third Section). You also need 4 Master Artisan crafted items.
Step 3: Goto any starport ticket droid and use the "Purchasing Satellite Tracking Data" radial option, this costs 1100 credits, once the droid finds the satellite you retrieve the info with the "Obtain Satellite Data" radial option.
Step 4: Use your tracking device to locate the satellite, retrieve the computer core
Step 5: Use the "Reconfigure Interface" radial option on the computer core. You must get the four indicators to light up. To do this you must connect four wires in the proper order, there are red, yellow and blue wires, and each can be connected to a different power source. You set it up and then test it to see if you're right. For each wire connected to the correct contact one of the indicators will light up, if the right type of wire is used but to the wrong contact the indicator will flicker. Each failed test damages the core and causes the "Circuit Integrity" to drop, which is the % chance the core is still viable. On average a core can survive 6 or 7 attempts before it's fried (unclear right now what happens if you fry the core, do you fail or do you have to retrieve it again).
Step 6: Return the completed configured core back to "Chief Engineer" [Name keeps changing]
WARNING: If you complete step 3 before doing step 2 you will get {hurt}

I wish I could help you, but I'm at a loss because we have identical situations and I was able to complete the quest yesterday.

I toostarted out with all my crafting xp banked from having done it all weekend when the double xp was going on. I then went around and got all the parts for the tracking device on Monday, stuck them in a bag ..and waited. Phase 4 arrives, I go talk to the engineer ...everything is fine.. I take the waypoint for Corellia. Dash down to Cnet, run behind the Starport, got my kit with no problem. Put it all together with no issue. Walk back inside the Starport, claimed my satellite, checked the device and then headed to Naboo as indicated. Arrived, walked out of the Starport, activated the tracker again ..no dice. Rode out a bit into Theed, hit the tracker again ...bingo. The waypoint was not far at all ...right outside the city. Went and found the satellite, got the core with no issue. Rewired the core properly with 30 percent to spare, took it back to the engineer, opened the tree. Was then able to buy all the repair boxes immediately without any trouble.

The only suggestion I can make is go back and talk to the guy that gives you the kit again and see if perhaps you mistakenly picked the wrong response when speaking with him.

Hey Darth,

Thanks for the suggestion, but still no luck.

I went back to see if I could take another path through the conversation, but I'm still having the problem. I didn't really see any options in the conversation. Each step basically gave me three choices:

- (1) continuing further with the conversation,

- (2) various ways of saying nevermind (that's not the actual verbiage, but is was basically the intent) Ex - Oh, sorry to bother you.

- (3) stop talking.

Any chance you remember any of the conversation?

Looks like I figured it out with your help after all!

Due to the warning about doing the quest steps out of order, I was exiting out of the conversation too soon. I went ahead and finished the conversation and she offered to sell me the kit.

Thanks again!
