Iknow there are the phase quests to open your trees
but wouldn't it be more fun if you could get, say 10k, fs-xp for missions you ran from the village
with rewards of items instead of cash on the terminal or completion of the mission?
we need ways of making the path to padwan more fun..i love the village quests .. even the 3 week wait to unlock a tree.. not everyone should be able to get jedi as soon as they get an account on SWG:JTL
but by god, the grind to completing a tree is mega dull, even if your grinding using nades or using 2 master proff caps......
am i right.. or am i right

I would love to say your right as I do not like disagreeing with people...but that is like saying that everyone should have at least one jedi. I think these quests should take years in fact. So that you don't grind. Something that would take so ridiculously long that you just couldn't even bear it and one day when you least expected there it would be. Is it honestly that rewarding to get FS in a one day grind and then grind non stop to 6 trees only to get a jedi? Should it be easy?

Thats a great idea corpse, mission terminals for FS-XP, where you would go to the village, do missions on sith for the FS-XP etc..
The only problem I can see with that however is the fact that everyone would be at the village and the lag would be worse than coronet and MO dant combined

lol.. zoner.. upgrade your connection my freind......
no you missed my point.. i didn't mean grind FS-XP.. i meant
something like go to the village elder roll a mission easy, medium, hard
and by hard i mean on the scale of the FS-Exit quest
but insted of your normal xp you get fs-xp from the kills.... something like 50 low like combat xp
and on completing the mission you get say 10k FS-XP
wouldn't you rather do that than throwing nades at quenkers.. (which to me is like handing everyone a jedi)

I suppose my point was I wish that there was no set "Known" way to become FS or jedi to begin with. I wished that it was something you got as a reward for perserverance and committment to creating something for yourself... I don't think that any of this FS stuff was necessary to begin with. I am sur eothers that have been in the game since the beginning remember how rewarding this game was before grinding set in. Of course there is always some but only for a quick boost to try something new. I think as it is there was much more time put into planning these quests then there ever was with any other aspect of the game yet and that is kind of lame when you considered jedi were never intended to become this immersive and only did because the devs gave in when too many people threatened to leave and you see them giving in with a good many things. If you think that this is rambling or off topic it is only because I am convinced that JEDI WARS is approaching rapidly and I think the pinnacle will be the removal of a lot of the jedi game structure to make being a jedi a task and undesireable. That is where we are heading because you know that everything gets broken when it becomes too powerful in this game because it is all about balance.
So back to the original idea...I think the quests are great as they stand. I think adding a new element to FS xp would only create a new grind and change nothing. I think that if you are grinding quenkers with grenades and it sucks...then move on and find other ways to enjoy the game and take the XP as it comes in even if it is very slow.
The biggest downfall of this game are the people that cannot enjoy the game unless others are creating content for them. You can find ways to enjoy...just look harder.
PS again I am sorry I rambled...I did want you to know that I understood you.

hey i've been here since.. patch 4/5 ish man i know what he old hologrind was like.. and yes i want content .. its a role playong game, dungeons and dragons didn't get how it is today from being the same everytime you played it.......
i know that its unfair that people who have been on the game 18weeks already have the abilitis to be jedi
but thats the way devs made it so i live with it..
it would be nice to have something different to "grind" to
by the way i think the nades idea sucks .. as it don't work on my char.. lol
and killing quenkers is the quickest way i can get my beloved jedi.. that i have been after since day one of playing

Its all good. Everyone has wants...I suppose I just wanted something...not quite so easy. I didn't even do the hologrind and got visited. Then when I showed up I got 4 free trees...now this far into the new system i have gotten exactly NO other boxes because I actually OVER occupy myself...but if Jedi is all you want Jedi is what you get...in all its glory doesn't seem like much of a "Prize" considering I have been here from kickoff.
If I had one wish for the game I would say take it back to day one...bugs and all...it was survival of the fittest sans buffs, composite, and lightsabers.
LOL Those were the days

I think the point is not to get it much faster than grinding, but to actually enjoy the process of getting it by doing things that relate to the experience.

i was just thinking of a way to lower the grind aspect...
i mean no matter how you look at it getting jedi is hard graft on the person who wants it .. thats why they call it a grind...
i just think that missions like these would make it alot more intersting.. especially as the items would also make the missions worth doing, like village quest items.. i love those.. makes patroling 20 times worth while(hahaha)
i really love the focus crystals.. i'd love to get a set of 6, 1 for each skill.. then i could get a buff and get buffed by a doc and kill elders.. who needs jedi .. lol.. joking!!!

Ideally it would have been better to make the entire advancement system quest based. But it's not. Of course if you think that grind is bad, wait till you get a load of the Jedi grind. 15.2 mil Jedi XP to master any one discipline. I'm now getting a little less than 400k Jedi XP per buff session, so you do the math. LOL. You'll start off at less than a quarter that, so get used to it now while you can.
